  • Publication number: 20240393214
Abstract: An emissions sampling apparatus for sampling from an exhaust stack of a maritime vessel to aid in regulator and efficiency monitoring of the maritime vessel. The emissions sampling apparatus including an exhaust sample intake apparatus mounted within the exhaust stack and connected to an emissions sensor apparatus mounted to the outer circumference of the exhaust stack.

  • Patent number: 11782038
Abstract: A system for the maritime shipping industry to aid enforcement of the Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) exhaust emissions regulations which uses neural networks and a novel sampling process to detect and record compliant operation of a ship regarding the fuel switching aspect of the regulation. The processing load of neural network training can be distributed over multiple identical self-contained, self-powered, self-communicating sensor units on each of the monitored ships.

  • Publication number: 20230009342
Abstract: A maritime sulfur dioxide emissions switch monitoring system has an emissions sampling apparatus that is self-powered and requires a low power for operation. The emissions sampling apparatus has sensitive and selective chemical sensing technology capable of quantification of sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide. Relative humidity, temperature and pressure sensors, in addition to sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide are used for monitoring the exhaust gas. Filters are used to eliminate solid and liquid aerosolized components in marine engine exhaust.

  • Publication number: 20180027777
Abstract: Water consumption monitors adapted for use in equine applications are provided. In some embodiments, an outer casing is provided that is separably coupled to a wall mount. A bucket retention arm is coupled to the wall mount and extends distally from the wall mount through the outer casing. A cantilever sensor is disposed within the outer casing and is operably coupled to the bucket retention arm. The cantilever sensor is adapted to detect a force on the bucket retention arm. A transmitter is operably coupled to the cantilever sensor and is adapted to transmit data regarding the force on the bucket retention arm.
