Abstract: A method and system to determine a category score of a social network member is described. An example system comprises a sample selector, a weight value module, a storing module, an access module, and a category score module. The sample selector selects a random sample of member profiles from the profiles maintained by an on-line social network system. The weight value module obtains respective weight values associated with various phrases present in the random sample of member profiles. The access module accesses a member profile and the weighted phrases associated with a certain category. The category score module determines a category score for the member profile based on a presence of one or more phrases from the plurality of weighted phrases in the member profile.

Abstract: A system and method for linking keywords with user profiling and item categories is disclosed. A particular embodiment includes extracting keywords from a set of listings; collecting user behavior information, corresponding to the set of listings from which keywords were extracted, and associating the collected user behavior information with the extracted keywords; obtaining user demographic information corresponding to particular users associated with the collected user behavior information and generating a corresponding user demographic background; and associating the extracted keywords with the user demographic background. A particular embodiment also includes correlating particular keywords with merchandise categories or other merchandise characteristics.

Abstract: A system and method for providing automatic high-value listing feeds for online computer users is disclosed. A particular embodiment includes obtaining publisher information corresponding to a plurality of publisher content items from a plurality of publisher sites; obtaining merchant information including value information corresponding to the plurality of publisher content items; using a processor, the publisher information, and the merchant information to generate a set of high-value feeds for transfer to the plurality of publisher sites, the set of high-value feeds each being ranked corresponding to a quality score computed for each listing item of each high-value feed; and transferring the set of high-value feeds to corresponding publisher sites of the plurality of publisher sites.

Abstract: An apparatus, interposed between and attached to a drive vehicle and an object to be moved, dampens the force (drive, resistance, inertia, etc.) between them. The apparatus has a rigid structure which is capable of transferring the large forces required to pull the object, from the drive vehicle to the object, but uses damping to moderate the impact of the forces on the drive vehicle/object combination.
