    Abstract: A biochar is produced by co-pyrolysing an aquatic plant enriched with heavy metals with a clay mineral, and the aquatic plants themselves have high enrichment and adsorb heavy metals in contaminated water; heavy metals are in situ adsorbed, and are coated or enriched in the biochar, therefore extending the migration time of heavy metals, which are also very stable; attapulgite and montmorillonite as clay minerals are loaded in the biochar during the preparing process; heavy metals contained in the biochar play a catalytic role, and synergy with activated attapulgite, therefore increasing the reliability of the biochar, and effectively reducing the ecological effectiveness and potential risk of heavy metals in the biochar.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a bioelectrode for increasing abundance of cable bacteria, including an anode, a cathode, and a partition. The anode is horizontally disposed, and the cathode is disposed perpendicular to the anode. The anode and the cathode are separated by using the partition. An objective of the present invention is to provide a method for keeping a high abundance of the cable bacteria in sediments when oxygen content of overlying water is low and even in an anaerobic environment. The method can be further performed in a self-starting manner, and has a potential application prospect in ecological remediation of sediments.

    Abstract: A process for producing a heavy metal mediated biochar composite using silicate solidification. Hydrocharis dubia has excellent enrichment of manganese ions in sewage, and is used to treat sewage water to adsorb heavy metals such as lead, manganese and zinc contained in the sewage water into roots, stems and leaves thereof, which are pyrolysed in stages at high temperature with activated red mud and bentonite prior to blending with zeolites, to produce said heavy metal mediated biochar composite; the process significantly extends the migration time of heavy metals, increases the stability of heavy metals and reduces the risk of environmental pollution by heavy metal leakage.
