  • Publication number: 20240162640
Abstract: According to the present disclosure, a connector (10) configured to engage a connection object (50) includes i) an insulator (20) including an engagement projection (22) and a peripheral wall (23) surrounding the engagement projection (22), ii) a first metal fitting (40a) attached to the engagement projection (22), and iii) a second metal fitting (40b) attached to the peripheral wall (23). The first metal fitting (40a) and the second metal fitting (40b) are separate members. A strength of the first metal fitting (40a) and a strength of the second metal fitting (40b) are different from each other.

  • Patent number: 11984927
Abstract: This application discloses a band-pass concentrator (BPC) for visible light communications (VLC) and a VLC system. The BPC includes a housing. A cavity is disposed in the housing, and the cavity is filled with a dielectric. A light entrance that presents a concave spherical surface and that is recessed towards the cavity is disposed on a side of the housing, a light exit is disposed on a side of the housing that is opposite to the light entrance, and a side of the light exit that is away from the cavity is configured with dielectric multilayers that has a filtering function. Compared with a conventional CPC, the BPC implement the larger field of view, higher optical gain, reduced mass, and filtering function. The VLC system using the as-proposed BPC clearly increase the communications distance, bandwidth, and receiving field of view, and reduce the overall complexity and costs.

  • Patent number: 10968724
Abstract: The selection of a candidate formation realization(s) from a plurality of formation realizations may be done with a classification and regression tree (CART) analysis taking into account petrophysical and geological properties. For example, a method may include applying a CART analysis to a plurality of formation realizations using a first formation property as a predictor in the CART analysis, wherein the plurality of formation realizations are for a second formation property and are based on at least one measured formation property, thereby yielding an association between the first and second properties for each of the plurality of formation realizations; analyzing a strength of the association for each of the plurality of formation realizations; and selecting a candidate formation realization from the plurality of formation realizations based on the strength of the association. The identified candidate formation realization(s) may then be used to develop the parameters of subsequent wellbore operations.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 6, 2021
