  • Patent number: 7818634
Abstract: A detecting method for the consistency of a link scrambling configuration, comprises: setting the first threshold of the data packet error rate received by the receiving end; when the receiving end receiving date from the link, counting the received data packet error rate; judging whether the error rate is above the set first threshold; if yes, determining that the link scrambling configurations between transmitting end and receiving end are inconsistent; if not, determining that the link scrambling configurations between transmitting end and receiving end are consistent. The invention provides that the ports could detect the consistency of the link scrambling configuration automatically when configuring the link scrambling code, thereby enables the receive device to adjust the configuration of scrambling code to achieve the consistency of scrambling code between both ends of the link, and improves the maintenance of devices.

  • Patent number: 7801151
Abstract: A method for forwarding service in the data communication device and the forwarding apparatus, said apparatus includes a memory unit and a forwarding unit, wherein storing the Route Prefix, the private data of the Route Prefix and the corresponding Next Hop Array; said forwarding unit forwards the service at the data communication device according to said private data and the Next Hop corresponding with the Route Prefix. Using the present invention, it can implement the corresponding different a process for the different Prefix while the data communication device is forwarding service. It also may constitute a new-style FIB using the present invention, accordingly not only improve the updating speed of FIB, save the internal memory of the data communication device, but also satisfy the requirement that the different Prefixes need to have the different private domains with some specific functions.

  • Patent number: 7742400
Abstract: A method for detecting link failures between nodes in hybrid networks includes: establishing sub-BFD connections between nodes and edge nodes and establishing an end-to-end BFD connection. When a failure occurs in the sub-BFD connection of IP network segment, notify a peer node of the failure via the end-to-end BFD connection. When a failure occurs in the MPLS OAM mechanism of MPLS network segment, the edge node notifies the node of the failure via the sub-BFD connection. Another method includes: establishing sub-BFD connections between nodes and edge nodes. When one end of the sub-BFD connection failures, notify the IP network segment at the peer end of the failure via an extended MPLS OAM mechanism and notify the node of the failure via the sub-BFD connection of the IP network segment. An interworking between the BFD detecting mechanism and the MPLS OAM detecting mechanism in a hybrid network can be implemented.

  • Patent number: 7583673
Abstract: A network processor, including: a programmable Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) module, with one or more main forwarding hardware pipelines for a main forwarding upon packet; a MicroEngine (ME) module, including one or more programmable ME's for an assistant forwarding through software; designated Steps in the main forwarding hardware pipelines are further connected with each other through a judging unit which is correspondingly connected with the designated ME in the ME module, for judging whether a packet processed by the Step in the main forwarding hardware pipeline ahead of the judging unit needs assistant forwarding, if it needs, the judging unit informs the corresponding ME to perform the assistant forwarding, otherwise, notifies the Step behind the judging unit to perform the main forwarding. The present invention provides high flexibility and reliability, avoids negative influences when adding new services and does not require much instruction space.

  • Publication number: 20080107114
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and forwarding apparatus for forwarding a service in a data communication device. The apparatus includes a storage unit for storing a Route Prefix, private data of the Route Prefix and a corresponding Next Hop Array; and a forwarding unit for forwarding a service in the data communication device according to the private data and the next hop corresponding to the Route Prefix. With the invention, different corresponding processes may be performed for different prefixes when the data communication device forwards a service. According to the invention, a novel fast forwarding table (FIB) may also be constituted, thereby not only the updating speed of the FIB can be improved, the memory of the data communication device can be saved, but also the requirement of some special functions that different prefixes need to have different private domains can be met.
