  • Patent number: 11718286
Abstract: A method of controlling a parking process of a vehicle includes the following steps: identifying a driver; learning driver parameters during a manual parking process performed by the driver, and associating the driver parameters with the identified driver; determining parking parameters based on the driver parameters; and controlling, based on the parking parameters, an autonomous parking process of the vehicle performed by a parking assistance system.

  • Patent number: 8180527
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the assistance of a driver of a vehicle during a journey along a road, in which bend data indicating the course of a bend in the road extending in front of the vehicle seen in the direction of travel and road condition data indicating the condition of the road surface disposed in front of the vehicle seen in the direction of travel are determined and a recommended maximum speed allowing a safe driving through the bend is determined with reference to the bend data and to the road condition data.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 7, 2008
Date of Patent: May 15, 2012
    Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.
    Inventors: Stefan Mueller-Schneiders, Sharmila Ghosh

  • Patent number: 6774764
Abstract: A securing system, in particular for motor vehicles, comprises at least one multi-functional sensor, which is simultaneously provided both as a radar unit and as a transmitter/receiver unit for communicating with an external device such as a user identifying transponder. The device may have multiple transmitters and/or receivers spatially situated to determine whether the external device is inside or outside the vehicle and may emit a HF-modulated signal that is frequency shifted and re-emitted by the external device and received by the multi-function sensor, wherein a security function may be performed based on both identifying information in the re-emitted HF-modulated signal and the distance to the transponder determined from the time duration between emission of the HF-modulated signal and reception of the re-emitted HF-modulated signal.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 23, 2001
Date of Patent: August 10, 2004
    Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.
    Inventors: Sharmila Ghosh, Gerd Gruchalski
