    Abstract: A spinning reel having a housing and a spool for line. The line spool is parallel to a rod. The reel includes a spool rotation on an axial movement mechanism in order to move the spool both rotationally and axially in relation to the housing. A bail is moveable between a casting position and a line retrieval position. A drive mechanism drives the spool movement mechanism in order to wind the line onto the spool.
