  • Publication number: 20230241942
Abstract: A host vehicle for use with a remote processing station (RPS) configured to generate a pollution report from a global set of pollution data includes a vehicle body, a vehicle telematics unit (VTU), a sensor suite, and an electronic control unit (ECU). The sensor suite includes acoustic and/or an air quality sensors respectively configured for collecting pollution data samples. The pollution data samples include ambient noise and/or air quality levels as part of the global set of pollution data. The ECU selectively transmits the pollution data sample(s) to the RPS in response to predetermined conditions, via the, receives the pollution report descriptive of noise and/or air quality levels at a current location or destination of the host vehicle, and executes a control action of the host vehicle or another receiving device in response to the pollution report.

  • Publication number: 20230211777
Abstract: An assistance system for a vehicle capable of automated operation has a controller having a processor and tangible, non-transitory memory on which instructions are recorded. The vehicle is located on a first lane in a vicinity of one or more neighboring vehicles, the first lane merging with a second lane at a merging trajectory location. The controller is adapted to selectively execute a leader determination module when a distance of the vehicle to the merge starting point is less than a threshold value. This includes determining an estimated arrival time of the vehicle to a merge starting point of the merging trajectory location. The controller is adapted to select a leader vehicle from the neighboring vehicles based in part on their respective estimated arrival times to the merge starting point. Operation of the vehicle is controlled based in part on the leader vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20210024066
Abstract: A system and method obtain a cruise speed for a vehicle. The method includes computing an optimal speed for the vehicle in consideration of traffic flow, the computing the optimal speed being based on the cruise speed and additional information. The method also includes determining a personalized speed for the vehicle based on a model corresponding with a current user of the vehicle, and suggesting the personalized speed to the current user for a response. A new cruise speed for the vehicle is set according to the response of the current user. The vehicle is controlled to travel at the new cruise speed.

  • Patent number: 9456172
Abstract: A system for projecting 2D images, providing a computerized representation of a first, dense, grid of spatial 3D coordinates which respectively correspond to a set of time-points evenly distributed along a time-dimension with constant time-discretization; deriving a dense 2D representation of an image, whose coordinate pairs respectively correspond to said set of time-points; d. Defining a sparse 2D grid of second coordinate pairs, spaced such that distances between any two adjacent coordinate pairs along a row of said sparse 2D grid are constant; and finding, coordinate pairs closest to the second sparser grid to yield a third grid, and a laser controller to control the laser to project a digitally represented image, from said distance, timed to project pixels whose locations respectively correspond to the subset of uniformly distanced positions forming said third grid, thereby to prevent image distortion despite non-uniformity of micro-mirror's angular velocity.
