  • Publication number: 20240016246
Abstract: Far UV-C wavelengths provide safe and effective antimicrobial disinfectants without genotoxic or ocular toxicities associated with broadband UV-C disinfection. Antimicrobial wavelengths must be applied judiciously to avoid dysbiosis of human and environmental microbiomes. Disclosed is the application of far UV-C or other safe antimicrobial wavelengths via optical fiber delivery to disinfect percutaneous or indwelling medical devices such as various medical grade catheters (urinary, IV), tubes or drains which are a primary source of nosocomial infection.

  • Patent number: 11425945
Abstract: A self-sterilizing, face mask, respirator, open or enclosed face shield employs germicidal, far UV-C light safe for direct human exposure, mitigating risk of acquisition or transmission of respiratory pathogens, such as COVID 19. Device attachments or special lenses direct far UV-C light into the respiratory chamber and/or reservoir areas of infection including nasal, oropharyngeal or ocular areas to reduce or eliminate pathogens, serving also as a treatment modality. In a preferred embodiment the face shield has a removable front section, which can be exchanged or replaced with sections that include various functional attributes while maintaining germicidal protections and avoiding need to remove PPE during these activities including consumption of liquids, oral medications or food, as well as providing antimicrobial absorbent sneeze or cough guard or rhinorrhea secretion absorption, or a communication device to address communication deficiencies caused by respiratory protection barriers.

  • Publication number: 20220220558
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for prediction of a patient's response to a drug for treating androgenetic skin disorders such as alopecia, acne, and hirsutism. For a given drug such as anti-androgens and 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors, and a given dosage, the likely responsiveness of that drug and dosage may be determined, for example, by generating a set of patient scores based on a patient profile, including genetic sample information, and comparing that scores to a set of reference information.

  • Patent number: 5325294
Abstract: Method and apparatus for providing authorized access to medical information concerning an individual while preserving the confidentiality of, and preventing unauthorized access to, such information. A computer database receives and stores the individual's medical information, after the individual is tested to establish this information and the date on which such information was most recently obtained. The computer database does not contain the individual's name, address or any other similar information by which the individual can be identified. The individual is given an identification card containing a photograph or holographic image of the individual and containing a confidential first identification number that is unique for the individual, where both the image and the first identification number are visually perceptible and cannot be altered on the card without detection of such alteration.
