    Abstract: In an embodiment, a method for nitriding a substrate is provided. The method includes flowing a nitrogen-containing source and a carrier gas into a plasma processing source coupled to a chamber such that a flow rate of the nitrogen-containing source is from about 3% to 20% of a flow rate of the carrier gas; generating an inductively-coupled plasma (ICP) in the plasma processing source by operating an ICP source, the ICP comprising a radical species formed from the nitrogen-containing source, the carrier gas, or both; and nitriding the substrate within the chamber, wherein nitriding includes operating a heat source within the chamber at a temperature from about 150° C. to about 650° C. to heat the substrate; maintaining a pressure of the chamber from about 50 mTorr to about 2 Torr; introducing the ICP to the chamber; and adjusting a characteristic of the substrate by exposing the substrate to the radical species.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods, systems, and apparatus for conducting a radical treatment operation on a substrate prior to conducting an annealing operation on the substrate. In one implementation, a method of processing semiconductor substrates includes pre-heating a substrate, and exposing the substrate to species radicals. The exposing of the substrate to the species radicals includes a treatment temperature that is less than 300 degrees Celsius, a treatment pressure that is less than 1.0 Torr, and a treatment time that is within a range of 8.0 minutes to 12.0 minutes. The method includes annealing the substrate after the exposing of the substrate to the species radicals. The annealing includes exposing the substrate to molecules, an anneal temperature that is 300 degrees Celsius or greater, an anneal pressure that is within a range of 500 Torr to 550 Torr, and an anneal time that is less than 4.0 minutes.

The user device, using a whitebox, cryptographically recovers a secure element public key from a certified key using a server computer public key. The certified key is certified by the server computer and based on at least the secure element public key. The user device, using the whitebox, cryptographically recovers the encrypted message from the signed encrypted message using the secure element public key. The user device, using the whitebox, decrypts the encrypted message using the master secret key or the key derived from the master secret key in the whitebox to obtain the message.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are directed to providing personalized text proofing. A user model that is used to personalize generic critiques for text proofing a document is generated based on user signals indicating past user actions. During runtime of an application used to create the document, the user model is accessed and locally cached. User inputs comprising typed components used to create the document are received and a set of one or more generic critiques for the user inputs is accessed from an editor system. The user model is applied to the set which may modify a generic critique of the set. The modifying of the generic critique can cause the generic critique to be automatically applied or suppressed at the client device. The set including the modified generic critique is transmitted to a user device, whereby the user device applies the set to the document including automatically applying or suppressing the modified generic critique.

    Abstract: Audio distortion compensation methods to improve accuracy and efficiency of audio content identification are described. The method is also applicable to speech recognition. Methods to detect the interference from speakers and sources, and distortion to audio from environment and devices, are discussed. Additional methods to detect distortion to the content after performing search and correlation are illustrated. The causes of actual distortion at each client are measured and registered and learnt to generate rules for determining likely distortion and interference sources. The learnt rules are applied at the client, and likely distortions that are detected are compensated or heavily distorted sections are ignored at audio level or signature and feature level based on compute resources available. Further methods to subtract the likely distortions in the query at both audio level and after processing at signature and feature level are described.

    Abstract: The overall architecture and details of a scalable video fingerprinting and identification system that is robust with respect to many classes of video distortions is described. In this system, a fingerprint for a piece of multimedia content is composed of a number of compact signatures, along with traversal hash signatures and associated metadata. Numerical descriptors are generated for features found in a multimedia clip, signatures are generated from these descriptors, and a reference signature database is constructed from these signatures. Query signatures are also generated for a query multimedia clip. These query signatures are searched against the reference database using a fast similarity search procedure, to produce a candidate list of matching signatures. This candidate list is further analyzed to find the most likely reference matches. Signature correlation is performed between the likely reference matches and the query clip to improve detection accuracy.

    Abstract: Frames from an image stream or streams are processed by independently operating digital signal processors (DSPs), with only frame checking microprocessors operating in a lockstep mode. In one example, two DSP are operating on alternate frames. Each DSP processes the frames and produces prediction values for the next frame. The lockstep microprocessors develop their own next frame prediction. The lockstep processors compare issued frames and previously developed predicted frames for consistency. If the predictions are close enough, the issued frame passes the test. The lockstep processors then compare the issued frame to the preceding two frames for a similar consistency check. If the prior frames are also close enough, the issued frame is acceptable. In another example, hardware checkers are provided to compare the present frame with a larger number of prior frames. The hardware checkers provide comparison results to the lockstep processors to compare against allowable variation limits.
