  • Publication number: 20210266616
Abstract: A media client ascertains a plurality of matching points between (i) query fingerprints representing a media stream being received by the client and (ii) reference fingerprints, each identified matching point defining a respective match between a query fingerprint that is timestamped with client time defined according to a clock of the client and a reference fingerprint that is timestamped with true time defined according to a timeline within a known media stream. Further, the client performs linear regression based on the timestamps of the ascertained plurality of matching points, to establish a mapping between true time and client time. The client then uses the established mapping as a basis to determine a client-time point at which the client should perform an action with respect to media stream being received by the client. And the client performs the action at the determined client-time point.

  • Publication number: 20210252408
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for using sensor statistics for player authentication are described. A device or system (e.g., a video game, an electronic sports (Esports) system, a gaming console, etc.) may utilize sensors to authenticate a player (e.g., a user) to an account during gameplay (e.g., in real-time during gameplay). Users may be authenticated by matching sensed gameplay attributes (e.g., indicators, reflex time, sensed patterns, eye motion, heart rate, tremors, frequency of operation, periodicity, spiky behavior, eye concentration, etc.) to the account. For example, collected sensor data may be compared to the account's history or past sensor data, or may be compared to similar ranked players' sensor data, for authentication. The device or system may further use additional data including robot (e.g., BOT) gameplay data, sensor data collected from other players of different (e.g., higher) rank, etc. to identify when collected sensor data may be associated with inauthentic gameplay.

  • Publication number: 20210252151
Abstract: The blood-brain barrier (BBB) excludes most drugs and poses a significant challenge to treat brain diseases. Current methods for BBB opening yield modest outcomes in clinical applications due to safety and toxicity. This disclosure relates to methods of optically opening the BBB by laser excitation of tight-junction targeted nanoparticles to induce BBB transient opening. The excitation of plasmonic nanoparticles produces localized effects such as nanoscale heating and photomechanical force leading to BBB transiently opening to allow macromolecules across it. The safe and predictable platform for brain drug delivery will improve therapies for brain disease such as cancers, infections and neurologic disorders.

  • Patent number: 11095927
Abstract: A method and system for dynamically watermarking media content based on transport-stream metadata, to facilitate action by a downstream entity. An intermediary in a media-distribution path could receive a transport stream carrying media content and carrying metadata that is not watermarked in the media content. The intermediary could then obtain from the transport stream the metadata that is not watermarked in the media content and could modify the media content at least by encoding into the media content a watermark that represents the obtained metadata. And the intermediary could then output at least the modified media content for transmission to a downstream entity. The downstream entity could thus obtain from the watermark in the media content the metadata and could use the metadata to facilitate carrying out one or more useful actions.

  • Patent number: 11093215
Abstract: Photonic processors are described. The photonic processors described herein are configured to perform matrix-matrix (e.g., matrix-vector) multiplication. Some embodiments relate to photonic processors arranged according to a dual-rail architecture, in which numeric values are encoded in the difference between a pair optical signals (e.g., in the difference between the powers of the optical signals). Relative to other architectures, these photonic processors exhibit increased immunity to noise. Some embodiments relate to photonic processors including modulatable detector-based multipliers. Modulatable detectors are detectors designed so that the photocurrent can be modulated according to an electrical control signal. Photonic processors designed using modulatable detector-based multipliers are significantly more compact than other types of photonic processors.

  • Patent number: 11094394
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for imprint recovery management for memory systems are described. In some cases, memory cells may become imprinted, which may refer to conditions where a cell becomes predisposed toward storing one logic state over another, resistant to being written to a different logic state, or both. Imprinted memory cells may be recovered using a recovery or repair process that may be initiated according to various conditions, detections, or inferences. In some examples, a system may be configured to perform imprint recovery operations that are scaled or selected according to a characterized severity of imprint, an operational mode, environmental conditions, and other factors. Imprint management techniques may increase the robustness, accuracy, or efficiency with which a memory system, or components thereof, can operate in the presence of conditions associated with memory cell imprinting.

  • Patent number: 11093843
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to techniques for optimizing an execution mode used to process a request. A self-training storage system can determine one or more proposed execution modes based on a real-time evaluation of various factors, including a history of execution modes used to process historical requests. This history can serve as training data for a machine learning model that can predict an execution mode based on one or more request parameters. This predicted execution mode can be taken as one of a number of proposed execution modes that can be combined using a weightage system to automatically classify an ultimate execution mode used to process the request. Associated weights for combining proposed execution modes can be determined by training a machine learning model using a training set constructed based on a survey of user satisfaction with a determined execution mode.

  • Publication number: 20210247447
Abstract: Performance and lifespan of batteries deteriorate with time due to various factors. Existing systems for battery management use different approaches for the battery management, and also rely on static value of parameters for State of Health (SOH) and Remaining Useful Life (RUL) estimation, thereby failing to consider current condition of the battery. The disclosure herein generally relates to battery management, and, more particularly, to a method and system for online battery management involving real-time estimation of State of Health (SOH) and Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of a battery, based on real-time data collected from the battery. The system determines state of the battery as one of charging, discharging, and rest. Further, corresponding to the determined state, the system determines values of one or more parameters, and processes the determined values with a battery performance model for online determination of the SOH and RUL.
