  • Publication number: 20070124458
Abstract: A method and a system for notifying a user regarding events occurring on nodes in a network are provided. Information related to the events occurring on the nodes is received at a network device. The received information is converted into a syndicated format. A part or whole of the converted information is transmitted to notify the user about the events occurring on the nodes in the network, when the user queries for the converted information. The user can be notified without browsing a homepage of the network device.

  • Patent number: 7154509
Abstract: An apparatus and method for allowing color adjustments in display devices is disclosed The apparatus comprises a multi-resolution structure for providing color adjustments; and an interpolator for interpolating at least one offset of the multi-resolution structure. An apparatus and method in accordance with the present invention uses a combination of color look-up tables with different levels of resolution, followed by interpolation to provide a display process which has high resolution but utilizes minimal memory. In so doing, memory is used for high-resolution areas only where needed. The multi-resolution structure is a very good approximation to the theoretical mapping table in the areas where it is needed. At the same time, since the high resolution areas are localized, a significant reduction in memory storage is possible.

  • Patent number: 7079053
Abstract: Data in a data structure is compressed by exploiting prior knowledge of the format of the data structure. A portion of the data structure is captured. A metadata component is selected for the portion. A data buffer is updated by using the selected metadata component and the captured portion. This compression technique achieves real-time data compression suitable for use with data structures used for the synchronization of the state of communication entities. The compression technique reduces the volume of data to be communicated for the synchronization of the state of communication entities and, therefore, provides faster synchronization. The present technique is suitable for use in redundant systems.

  • Patent number: 5787255
Abstract: A special memory overlay circuit uses a first DRAM buffer memory in combination with a second faster SRAM buffer memory to reduce the time required to translate information into different network protocols. Packet data is stored in the DRAM buffer memory and packet headers requiring manipulation are stored in the SRAM buffer memory. Because the SRAM has a faster data access time than the DRAM buffer memory, a processor can reformat the packet header into different network protocols in a shorter amount of time. Packet headers also use a relatively small amount of memory compared to remaining packet data. Since the SRAM buffer memory is only used for storing packet headers, relatively little additional cost is required to utilize the faster SRAM memory while substantially increasing network performance.
