Publication number: 20240261510Abstract: A single-use medical syringe has a syringe lock that prevents repeated syringe aspiration and dispensing of fluids to patients. A pivoting syringe lock is coupled to the proximal open end of the syringe barrel. The syringe lock has or more cantilever lock forks in continuous, biased, sliding, abutting contact with the plunger. Each lock fork engages a corresponding plunger detent oriented on a proximal end of the syringe plunger, after the plunger is fully advanced within the syringe barrel. The plunger remains locked in an advanced position within the syringe barrel while each lock fork is engaged in its corresponding plunger detent. In some embodiments, a removeable plunger clip is coupled to the syringe to prevent inadvertent advancement of the plunger into the syringe barrel and premature locking of the syringe prior to administration of medication to a patient.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 3, 2023Publication date: August 8, 2024Applicant: Becton, Dickinson and CompanyInventors: Vineeth Acharya, Shashwat Jain, Praveen Nalawade, Senthilkumar Rakkiyappan

Patent number: 12056263Abstract: A data storage device and method to selectively enable access to stored user data files. The method includes receiving authentication credential from a user and, in response, retrieving a unique user identifier associated with the authentication credential. The stored user data files on the data storage device each has respective data file identifier. The method includes, for each user, enumerating a directory of stored data files where the data file identifier matches the unique user identifier of that user. This enables selective access of files corresponding the user. Multiple users can be registered to the same data storage device and selective access prevents one user from accessing another user's data files.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2021Date of Patent: August 6, 2024Assignee: Sandisk Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Raghav Agrawal, Shashwat Jain

Publication number: 20240173534Abstract: A connector safety shield configured to engage a needle free connector comprises a push cap slidably mounted on an external enclosure cap that encloses a spray chamber containing disinfectant that can be pushed multiple times out of perforations in the bottom of the spray chamber and onto the distal end of the needle free connector by action of a stopper mounted in the spray chamber and operably connected to the push cap. The connector safety shield also comprises a bottom enclosure cap that can engage the needle free connector and thus lock the connector safety shield onto the needle free connector. A hinge connecting the bottom enclosure cap and the assembly of the external closure cap, spray chamber, and push cap allows the assembly of the external closure cap, spray chamber, and push cap to be rotated out of connection with the needle free connector such that the needle free connector can be connected to another device or object such as a syringe or other vascular access device.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2022Publication date: May 30, 2024Inventors: Vineeth Acharya, Shashwat Jain, Muralikrishna Menon, Praveen Nalawade, Senthilkumar Rakkiyappan

Publication number: 20240165342Abstract: A dual chamber, sequential delivery syringe facilitates selective drug mixing, dosing, and administration through catheters or other vascular accessing devices (VADs), as well as post-administration flushing of catheters with a single syringe instrument. A syringe barrel incorporates an outlet, such as a Luer connector, a variable-volume, primary fluid chamber, and a secondary chamber that is pre-filled with fluid. A plunger manipulated, telescoping actuator, in conjunction with a medication stopper disposed within the barrel interior, form a valve for selectively isolating the secondary fluid chamber from fluid communication with the primary fluid chamber and/or the outlet of the syringe barrel. Valve opening is accomplished automatically by continuous advancement of the plunger.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2022Publication date: May 23, 2024Applicant: Becton, Dickinson and CompanyInventors: Shashwat Jain, Praveen Nalawade
