  • Publication number: 20180010191
Abstract: The present invention is related to an improved method for HER2 gene test by using quantitative real-time PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) technique. Our invention streamlines test process, and incorporates quality control for each major step, including sample, reagent, operation, and data report. We eliminate the need for reference genes which is hard to standardize in HER2 PCR test. We develop a cutoff reference point by using the statistical mean of tumor tissue population, and adopt a simplified scoring scheme for evaluation of HER2 status. Our invention produces consistent result across machines and labs, and has proven to be clinically successful in HER2 test.

  • Patent number: 4483955
Abstract: Polyethylene terephthalate resin compositions are provided containing fillers; reinforcing agents; or blends of such fillers and agents; alkali metal silicates, carbonates, or bicarbonates; and neopentylglycol dibenzoate.Articles molded from these compositions have high gloss surfaces and heat deflection temperatures when molded at temperatures below 110.degree. C. even without a precompounding drying stage.Surprisingly, the inclusion of neopentylglycol dibenzoate allows the concentration of alkali metal silicate, carbonate, or bicarbonate to be substantially reduced while retaining the high gloss surfaces seen when alkali metal silicates, carbonates, or bicarbonates are used alone at much higher concentrations.

  • Patent number: 4444931
Abstract: Nucleating agents have been discovered which enable molded articles to be prepared with smooth glossy surfaces from blends of polyethylene terephthalate and polybutylene terephthalate in the "wet state", i.e., without the resin having been subjected to a predrying stage. The present invention is directed to polyalkylene terephthalate resin compositions. Specifically, it is directed to undried blends of polyethylene terephthalate and polybutylene terephthalate resins with nucleating agents which enable these resin blends to be molded into articles with smooth glossy surfaces. In a preferred embodiment fillers and/or reinforcing materials are added without subjecting the resin to a predrying treatment which has been heretofore necessary in the prior art.

  • Patent number: 4427807
Abstract: Provided is a glass reinforced molding composition which comprises a mixture of (i) a copolymer of trioxane and a cyclic ether or cyclic acetal or linear polyacetal, (ii) a terpolymer of trioxane, a cyclic ether and/or cyclic acetal and a diglycide of the formula ##STR1## wherein Z is a carbon-to-carbon bond, an oxygen or oxyalkoxy of 1 to 8 carbon atoms or an oxy-poly(lower alkoxy), and (iii) a glass reinforcing agent. The resulting glass reinforced composition exhibits improved property retention, e.g., of properties such as tensile strength.

  • Patent number: 4425457
Abstract: Polyethylene terephthalate resin compositions are provided containing fillers; reinforcing agents; or blends of such fillers and agents and selected alkali metal salts having anions which are oxides of Group IV of the periodic table preferably carbonates and bicarbonates.Articles molded from these compositions have high gloss surfaces and heat deflection temperatures when molded at temperatures below 110.degree. C. even without a precompounding drying stage.

  • Patent number: 4031912
Abstract: A system for controlling the silver ion concentration of a silver halide emulsion made by mixing alkali halide and silver nitrate solutions which are delivered continuously to a vessel at primary addition rates. The silver ion concentration in the vessel is measured to establish the deviation from a desired concentration. Where the error is within a limited or normal range, a low signal selector circuit causes a pump in a secondary flow loop to deliver a secondary amount of whichever solution is needed to offset the deviation. Where the error is abnormal, a high signal selector circuit alters the primary addition rate of the alkali halide solution to offset the deviation.
