Abstract: An apparatus for use in administering a particulate medicament to a biological subject's airway, the apparatus including an inlet that in use is in fluid communication with a supply of positive pressure gas, an outlet that in use is in fluid communication with the subject's airway to deliver the positive pressure gas thereto and a medicament supply that provides a dose of particulate medicament so that the particulate medicament is entrained in a gas flow from the inlet to the outlet, thereby delivering the particulate medicament to the subject's airway.

Abstract: Apparatus for transporting fluid within a biological subject, the apparatus including an at least partially compliant section, so that the compliant section at least partially controls the flow of fluid therethrough. The compliant section may also be used in conjunction with a heart pump for the purpose of at least partially controlling the flow of blood through the heart pump.
