  • Patent number: 9935837
Abstract: Embodiments for implementing change control management in computing center environments by a processor. A determination is made of a present status of a monitored component of a computing device in the computer center environment. A recording, using at least one sensor device, of a change of the present status of the monitored component, including a time stamp and information identifying an owner of the change is made. An analysis of a trend of status of the monitored component over time is made to generate an accurate prediction of future activity towards the monitored component.

  • Patent number: 9934236
Abstract: Various embodiments for streamlining data deduplication by a processor. In file storage utilizing re-writable storage media with data deduplication, a host layer file system is informed of available file space based on at least one of an available plurality of tracking operations performed by the processor, thereby providing an adjustable virtual free capacity file of deduplication pointers to facilitate deduplication functionality across a plurality of storage devices. As one of the available plurality of tracking devices, an actual block utilization tracking operation is utilized for gathering periodic statistics from deduplicating sources to enable analysis of trends in storage capacity utilization.

  • Publication number: 20180068563
Abstract: For modifying travel estimates, a memory stores maps and a plurality of travel records. A measurement circuit determines travel parameters. A current schedule anxiety is calculated as a difference between a nonzero constant value and the relative arrival time. The memory stores the travel parameters to a travel record of the plurality of travel records each time a specified driver drives to a location. A modification circuit modifies an arrival time travel estimate based on a driver profile for the specified driver calculated from the travel parameters and the plurality of travel records. The modification circuit further updates the driver profile in the memory with the current schedule anxiety and the speed based on current schedule anxiety. A display presents the modified arrival time estimate.

  • Publication number: 20180060179
Abstract: Embodiments for, in an object storage environment, managing data replication between first and second sites of a distributed computing environment by one or more processors. A first pass metadata hash is calculated for each of the objects in an object-set that is subsequently transferred from the first to the second site. Responsive to the second site, a second pass metadata hash is calculated for remaining objects of the object-set that are identified by the second site at a sub-object level using a predetermined size.

  • Publication number: 20180060178
Abstract: Embodiments for, in a shared storage environment, managing data replication between first and second sites of a distributed computing environment by one or more processors. Based on an identified data block-set for replication, a unique metadata map is generated as a computed snapshot of the identified data block-set, the metadata map accounting for a predetermined block-size for transfer. The unique metadata map is transferred to the second site. The second site adds the unique metadata map to a global metadata repository.

  • Publication number: 20180060346
Abstract: Embodiments for, in a shared storage environment, managing data replication between first and second sites of a distributed computing environment by one or more processors. Metadata is pre-seeded from the first to the second site as an assembled metadata map. Data blocks corresponding to the pre-seeded metadata not currently stored at the second site are determined by the second site using the metadata map within a deduplication environment. A transfer request for the data blocks is returned by the second site to the first site.

  • Publication number: 20180048721
Abstract: Embodiments for integration of social interactions in shared media by a processor. The social interactions are mapped in real time according to a predetermined preference. Duplicate ones of the social interactions are managed according to a data deduplication operation. The shared media is analyzed in view of the mapped social interactions to generate placement or duration display attributes for the social interactions such that the mapped social interactions and the shared media may be concurrently viewed on a particular display without obfuscating content of the shared media at a particular time.

  • Publication number: 20180048615
Abstract: Embodiments for managing social commentary as applicable to social media by a processor. A spectrum of weights is assigned to individual portions of the social commentary as a function of a determined measured characteristic. Those of the individual portions having a higher weight than a predetermined threshold are selected to be displayed through the social media in a hierarchy corresponding to a position in the spectrum of weights, while those of the individual portions having a lower weight than the predetermined threshold are selected to be withheld from display. A deduplication operation is applied to individual portions of the social commentary. Those of the individual portions determined to be repetitive greater than a predetermined number are used to assist in formulating weights of the individual portions.

  • Patent number: 9882800
Abstract: A computer room management device communicates with a serviceable device via a computer room serviceability network (CRSN) that is distinct from other functional data networks utilized to accomplish computing tasks. The CRSN may be, for example, a Bluetooth connection that provides for the communication of serviceability instructions between devices within the computer room. The management device instructs the serviceable device to activate a location identifier proximately located to a service location. The management device provides a service interface that includes a representation of the activated location identifier along with instructions for providing service at the service location.

  • Publication number: 20170344636
Abstract: A method for determining keyword relevance based on social media includes receiving initial keywords associated with a particular web page. The method queries one or more social media platforms using the initial keywords. The results of the queries are then analyzed and new keywords are generated based on the results. An author relevance factor is determined for each author associated with the results, and numerical statistics are generated for occurrences of each new keyword in the results. A ranking is then determined for each new keyword based on the author relevance factors and numerical statistics. The new keywords and associated rankings may then be provided to a user for decision making purposes. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed herein.

  • Patent number: 9821232
Abstract: Embodiments for fostering integration of a user in a multi-player gaming environment by a processor. Each of a plurality of user bioanalytics is recorded over a period of time as the user interacts in the multi-player gaming environment. The recorded bioanalytics are compared against a plurality of game analytics corresponding to aspects of game play in the multi-player gaming environment over the period of time. Based on the bioanalytics and game analytics, an avatar representation of the user is constructed for the multi-player gaming environment.

  • Patent number: 9824115
Abstract: A method for efficiently managing and analyzing log information is disclosed. In one embodiment, such a method includes providing a community database for a particular product and enabling a user to view a log file associated with the particular product. The method further enables the user to create a category and link a portion of a line of the log file to the category. The category is then submitted to a database administrator to accept or decline the category for admission into the community database. In the event the database administrator accepts the category into the community database, the category is stored in the community database and the portion of the line is linked to the category. Upon opening and viewing future log files, the category may then be used to label lines containing the portion. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also disclosed.
