Patent number: 12318906Abstract: A hand-held power tool is configured to receive an input indicative of a clutch setting for an electronic clutch from the tool operator, where the clutch setting is selectable from a drill mode, an automated drive mode and one or more user-defined drive modes. Each of the user-defined drive modes specifies a different value of torque at which to interrupt transmission of torque to the output spindle. In an automated drive mode, the controller interrupt torque to the output spindle in an automated manner when a fastener being driven reaches a desired stopping position. In a selected one of the user-defined drive modes, the controller sets a value of a maximum current threshold in accordance with the selected one of the user-defined drive modes and interrupts torque to the output spindle when current measures exceeding the maximum current threshold.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2018Date of Patent: June 3, 2025Assignee: BLACK & DECKER INC.Inventors: Shaun Lovelass, Marco A. Mattucci, Jason McRoberts, David Miller, Christopher J. Murray, Wong Kun Ng, Steven J. Phillips, Jonathan Priestley, Fugen Qin, Oleksiy Sergyeyenko, Christopher W. Shook, Kevin Stones

Publication number: 20090271944Abstract: The present invention provides a vacuum cleaner control system comprising a first user-operable control for switching a suction source of the vacuum cleaner between an on condition and an off condition, a second user-operable control for switching a rotatable brush in a floorhead of the vacuum cleaner between an on condition and an off condition, a third user-operable control for switching a filter cleaning mechanism for cleaning a filter of the vacuum cleaner between an on condition and an off condition, a detector for detecting when a handle of the vacuum cleaner is tilted between a substantially vertical, storage position and an angled, use position, and an electronic circuit for receiving input signals from the first, second and third user-operable controls and from the detector. The electronic circuit has a first output for switching the suction source on and off, a second output for switching the floorhead brush on and off and a third output for switching the filter cleaning mechanism on and off.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2009Publication date: November 5, 2009Applicant: Black & Decker Inc.Inventor: Shaun Lovelass
