  • Publication number: 20230332526
Abstract: A system and method for treating turbine exhaust gas includes an exhaust gas discharge structure, a catalytic exhaust gas treatment device, at least two heat exchangers and a district heating system. The catalytic exhaust gas treatment device is positioned at least partially within the exhaust gas discharge structure. A first heat exchanger is positioned at least partially within the exhaust gas discharge structure and upstream of the catalytic exhaust gas treatment device to remove heat from an exhaust gas by transferring heat to a working fluid. A second heat exchanger is positioned at least partially within the exhaust gas discharge structure downstream of the catalytic exhaust gas treatment device to remove heat from the exhaust gas that has passed though the device by transferring heat to the working fluid. A pump drives the working fluid between the first heat exchanger, the district heating system and the second heat exchanger.

  • Publication number: 20230332529
Abstract: A system and method for treating turbine exhaust gas for improved operational flexibility includes a turbine exhaust gas discharge structure, a catalytic turbine exhaust gas treatment device positioned at least partially within the turbine exhaust gas discharge structure, a pump, and at least two heat exchangers. A first heat exchanger is positioned at least partially within the turbine exhaust gas discharge structure to remove heat from turbine exhaust gas by transferring heat to a working fluid. A second heat exchanger removes heat from the working fluid gained at the first heat exchanger. The pump drives the working fluid between the first and second heat exchanger. In a further embodiment, the catalytic turbine exhaust gas treatment device is replaced by a heat recovery steam generator.

  • Patent number: 11668219
Abstract: A system and method for treating turbine exhaust gas includes an industrial process turbine exhaust gas discharge structure, a catalytic turbine exhaust gas treatment device positioned at least partially within the industrial process turbine exhaust gas discharge structure, a pump, and at least two heat exchangers. The catalytic turbine exhaust gas treatment device is positioned at least partially within the industrial process turbine exhaust gas discharge structure. A first heat exchanger is positioned at least partially within the industrial process turbine exhaust gas discharge section structure and upstream of the catalytic turbine exhaust gas treatment device to remove heat from an the turbine exhaust gas by transferring heat to a working fluid. A second heat exchanger removes heat from the working fluid gained at the first heat exchanger. The pump drives the working fluid between the first and second heat exchanger.

  • Publication number: 20230115349
Abstract: A system is disclosed that utilizes renewable energy to generate high temperature, superheated steam for driving a prime mover, such as a steam turbine coupled to an electrical generator, and/or to deliver heat where only a portion of the renewable energy system needs to withstand a high temperature working fluid that is necessary to generate high temperature superheated steam.

Abstract: A system and method for treating exhaust gas includes an exhaust gas discharge structure, a catalytic exhaust gas treatment device positioned at least partially within the exhaust gas discharge structure, a pump, and at least two heat exchangers. The catalytic exhaust gas treatment device is positioned at least partially within the exhaust gas discharge structure. A first heat exchanger is positioned at least partially within the exhaust gas discharge section and upstream of the catalytic exhaust gas treatment device to remove heat from an exhaust gas by transferring heat to a working fluid. A second heat exchanger removes heat from the working fluid gained at the first heat exchanger. The pump drives the working fluid between the first and second heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 10634339
Abstract: Disclosed is a Once-Through Steam Generator (OTSG) coil (52) and method, comprising a plurality of vertically arranged serpentine conduits (90) in a horizontal heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) that replaces a traditional natural circulation HP evaporator for producing supercritical steam. The OTSG comprises a lower equalization header system (130) that promotes system stability in multiple operating conditions. The equalization header allows a partial flow of fluid from the lower serpentine curved flow path (120) through an equalization conduit (125) into the equalization header (130) Disclosed also are: a flow restriction device in serpentine conduits; drainage structure from serpentine conduits through the equalization header, a drainage expansion section to accommodate stresses, and drainage bypass connections; and flow through serpentine conduits in upstream and downstream directions, mixed flow directions and longitudinally staggered directions.
