  • Publication number: 20180319139
Abstract: A polymeric coating composition for use in overlaying at least a portion of a substrate element composed of a plural component polymeric system composed of a reactive blend of at least one first component and at least one second component, wherein the first component consists essentially of a polymer and/or blend of polymers present in an amount sufficient to impart a predetermined amount of tensile strength, hardness, flexibility and adhesive strength to the resulting polymeric coating, and the second component is an isocyanate or isocyanate quasi-prepolymer. The substrate element is a blast-resistant polymeric material having low surface energy and/or low reactivity at or near the surface of the substrate. Also disclosed is a blast and/or ballistic-resistant construction element composed of a structure having the aforementioned polymeric material thereover. The polymeric material has a substrate matrix containing at least one of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene, aramid materials, and the like.

  • Publication number: 20180312774
Abstract: Embodiments are described for a self-igniting assembly having a main portion with a match-like component affixed thereto. A flammable member such as a wick or match-like member is in communication with the match-like component. A handle permits the user to grip the main portion and tug the main portion to impart friction and a chemical reaction between the match-like component to ignite the flammable member. This assembly may be provided with a number of ignitable device such as logs, fire starters, fireworks, or candles.

  • Patent number: 10101131
Abstract: A method for manufacturing armor includes coating a first side of a ballistics arresting core with a first shell layer to create a partially coated ballistics arresting core, placing the partially coated ballistics arresting core in a vacuum bag and depressurizing the vacuum bag and curing the partially coated ballistics arresting core in the depressurized vacuum bag to create a partially shelled ballistics arresting core. The method further includes removing the partially shelled ballistics arresting core from the vacuum bag, coating a second side of the partially shelled ballistics arresting core with a second shell layer to create a fully coated ballistics arresting core, placing the fully coated ballistics arresting core in a vacuum bag and depressurizing the vacuum bag, and curing the fully coated ballistics arresting core in the depressurized vacuum bag to create a fully shelled ballistics arresting core.

  • Publication number: 20180220824
Abstract: A clothing accessory having a flexible elongate body with a leading end and a trailing end, said elongate body comprising: a slot proximate to at least one of the trailing end and the leading end of the flexible elongate body, wherein the slot comprises a first open end, a second open end, and a middle section in between said first and second open ends. The first and second open ends and middle section are configured in such a way that a clothing article may substantially pass through the slot and allow the clothing accessory to assist a user with affixing the clothing article to a piece of clothing.
