  • Publication number: 20160239784
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of routing a dental restoration design case based on a quality control (QC) result includes routing a dental restoration design case to a QC user queue for a QC user. The dental restoration design case has been designed by a design user using a design device. The method includes detecting that the QC user has rejected the dental restoration design case designed by the design user and receiving an annotated design of the case specifying at least one design error of the dental restoration design case. The method includes detecting whether the design user is available, and responsive to detecting that the design user is available, returning the rejected dental restoration design case associated with annotated design of the case to a design user queue for the design user.

  • Publication number: 20160125651
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for generating computer 3D models of an object, by registering two or more scans of physical models of an object. The scans may be 3D scans registered by a curve-based registration process. A method is provided for generating a 3D model of a portion of a patient's oral anatomy for use in dental restoration design. Also provided are scanning workflows for scanning physical models of an object to obtain a 3D model.

  • Publication number: 20150056576
Abstract: Computer-implemented methods of designing dental restorations and systems for performing the described methods are provided. In an embodiment, a method includes providing a virtual three dimensional representation of at least a portion of the patient's dentition that includes at least one preparation tooth, identifying a preparation margin on the virtual three dimensional representation, placing an arch form of a virtual tooth library in alignment with the virtual three dimensional representation, and proposing an initial restoration design based upon a tooth design obtained from the virtual tooth library.

  • Publication number: 20140255873
Abstract: A method of creating implant-supported dentures without physical impressions is provided. Digital impressions may be obtained from scanning the oral cavity, its structures, landmarks, and implant positions. These scans together provide a highly accurate, digital model from which a digital patient model may be designed. Digital denture designs may be reproduced as denture shapes by automated manufacturing processes, and an implant-supported denture may be manufactured therefrom. Methods form making a try-in denture and a final implant-supported denture are provided.
