Abstract: A Method and System for Conducting Fantasy Sports Games on a Wide Area Computer Network is disclosed. Also disclosed is a system and method that is implemented on a host computing device and delivered to client computers over a wide are computer network. The system and method improves player enjoyment by requiring players to challenge each other to fantasy sports games “duels,” with win-loss records for these duels determining fantasy team rankings. The system and method further permits current subscribers to the service to issue duel challenges to non-subscribers, such as by sending an email duel challenge. If wagering is desired, a duel challenge and acceptance would include an agreed wager amount to be awarded to the duel victor.
