  • Publication number: 20110105952
Abstract: The present invention generally relates, in certain aspects, to relatively small devices applied to the skin, modular systems, and methods of use thereof. In some aspects, the device is constructed and arranged to have more than one module. For instance, the device may have a module for delivering to and/or withdrawing fluid from the skin and/or beneath the skin of a subject and a module for transmitting a signal indicative of the fluid delivered to and/or withdrawn from the skin and/or beneath the skin of the subject, a module for analyzing a fluid withdrawn from the skin and/or beneath the skin of the subject, or the like. In some embodiments, the modules are connectable and/or detachable from each other, and in some cases, the connections and/or detachments may be performed while the device is in contact with the subject, e.g., while affixed to the subject.

  • Publication number: 20110066134
Abstract: Pharmaceutical drugs and formulations suitable for iontophoresis thereof that provide enhanced iontophoretic delivery of an anti-fungal drug to at least one body surface, such as a nail, are described. Also described are pharmaceutical formulations suitable for iontophoresis comprising terbinafine and methods for administering terbinafine to a body surface via iontophoresis. When the drug source is introduced into the nail using a mask, terbinafine concentrations in peripheral areas of nail following iontophoretic treatment are less than drug concentrations directly under the mask. Further, differences in delivered drug concentrations is effectuated by creating drug delivery gradients. Drug can be delivered to dissimilar tissues based on different transfer efficiencies exhibited by the dissimilar tissues, resulting in higher percentage delivery in one tissue vs. another tissue.

  • Patent number: 7777366
Abstract: A load control system and apparatus to control the load to different elements is disclosed. The load control system is attached to both an air conditioner and a pool filter system. The pool filter system has a predetermined run time and is only operating when the air conditioner is not. When the air conditioner turns on, the load to the pool filter system is disconnected. When the air conditioner turns off, the load is returned to the pool filter which resumes running at the point in the run time where the pool filter had previously left off. The load control system provides a more efficient and better use of energy resources.

  • Publication number: 20090321535
Abstract: An irrigation system comprises an irrigation zone, a controller, a valve, one or more pipes and at least one ground sensor. The system of pipes is connected to the value, which is operable to read water quantity per unit time. The ground sensors determine water flow and absorption by observing changes in surface temperature. The controller is in communication with the ground sensors and regulates water flow to the irrigation zone based on the readings from the ground sensors. The controller is programmed to deliver a predetermined volume of water and the ground sensor uses an infrared thermometer.
