  • Patent number: 9252640
Abstract: An apparatus includes a housing having a ventilation opening. A component such as a generator set can be disposed within an interior space of the housing. A baffle can be disposed within the interior space of the housing at a location that obstructs an acoustic line of sight between the ventilation opening and the component to eliminate or otherwise reduce a sound signature of the component. The baffle can also be configured to accumulate water from the ventilation opening. A drain can also be provided to aid in the removal of water accumulated by the baffle and route the water outside the housing.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 7, 2014
Date of Patent: February 2, 2016
Assignee: CUMMINS POWER GENERATION IP, INC.
Inventors: Daniel D. Gillett, Shawn J. Kipka

  • Patent number: 6776706
Abstract: In one aspect, a modular fan system includes a fan, a plenum member adapted to be mounted to the fan and adapted to be mounted to an enclosure, a gasket adapted to be mounted between the plenum member and the enclosure, a filter adapted to be mounted within the plenum member, and a grille adapted to be mounted to the plenum member. In the system, one or more of the fan, the plenum member, the gasket, the filter, and the grille are both assemblable into a first fan assembly and are alternatively assemblable into a second fan assembly. Another aspect also provides a stand-off collar adapted to be mounted to the enclosure, a first grille adapted to be mounted to the plenum member and adapted to be alternatively mounted to the stand-off collar, and an EMI/RFI shielding grille adapted to be mounted to the plenum member.

  • Publication number: 20030066832
Abstract: An electronics enclosure includes a base having a mounting hole, an extension member having a matching mounting hole, and a cover having a matching mounting hole. The base, cover, and extension member are designed so that the cover is mountable to the base in a first enclosure assembly and the extension member is mountable between the base and the cover in a second enclosure assembly. The electrical enclosure can include a base member having a tongue and a cover having a groove dimensioned to mate with the tongue. The groove can have a cross-section having a full radius arc profile and have a foam-in-place gasket mounted therein.
