Publication number: 20250077636Abstract: Techniques are provided for managing a user's digital identity. A method includes providing an option to setup a digital identity on a computing device. The method includes requesting a scan of a physical document that includes personal identifying information of the user. The computing device captures an image of the physical document, and also captures a biometric of the user. The image and the biometric are transmitted to an identity provider for user verification. A digital identity token is received from the identity provider as evidence of the identity of the user. A request to link a financial account of the user to the digital identity token is transmitted to a financial institution of the user. The method includes receiving a billing link identifier from the financial institution. The digital identity token and the billing link identifier are then stored in a personal data store on the computing device.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2023Publication date: March 6, 2025Applicant: Mastercard International IncorporatedInventors: Dan A. Publication number: 20240013215Abstract: A system for payment routing programmed to: receive a payment transaction message relating to a putative payment transaction of an accountholder, the payment transaction message containing putative payment transaction data including a transaction amount corresponding to the putative payment transaction; identify a plurality of accounts corresponding to the accountholder based on the payment transaction message, the accounts being held with a plurality of financial institutions; and responsive to receipt of the putative transaction data, generate a scaled score representing the likelihood of settlement of the putative payment transaction on a date for each of accounts held with the financial institutions.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2023Publication date: January 11, 2024Applicant: Mastercard International IncorporatedInventor: Shawn J. Mehrhoff

Patent number: 11705023Abstract: A rollable payment card is shiftable between a flat configuration and a rolled configuration via a manual rolling process. The payment card comprises a verification element, a processor, an electronic display unit in communication with the processor, and a power element providing electrical power to the display unit. The electronic display unit includes an electronic display region configured to display an image. The electronic display region is manually rollable. The payment card in the flat configuration presents horizontally spaced apart first and second ends and vertically spaced apart top and bottom edges. The first end overlaps the second end during the course of the rolling process, with the first end being disposed arcuately past the second end when the payment card is in the rolled configuration.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2020Date of Patent: July 18, 2023Assignee: Mastercard International IncorporatedInventors: Shawn J. Mehrhoff, Christopher T. Scholl

Publication number: 20230206242Abstract: A system for payment routing according to a likelihood of settlement. The system includes processors and/or transceivers programmed to receive a payment transaction message relating to a putative payment transaction. The payment transaction message contains putative payment transaction data including a customer identification (ID) for an account and a transaction amount. The system generates a scaled score representing the likelihood of settlement of the putative payment transaction on at least one date for each of a plurality of potential payment rails. Based at least in part on the at least one scaled score for each of the plurality of potential payment rails, the system selects a payment rail from the plurality of payment rails. The system initiates, via the selected payment rail, a payment transaction corresponding to the putative payment transaction.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2022Publication date: June 29, 2023Applicant: Mastercard International IncorporatedInventors: Nicholas Bryan Baguley, Young Mi Catarina Ban, William Campbell, Wally F. Publication number: 20210217005Abstract: The disclosure describes systems and methods for tokenizing a contactless payment card. A token requesting device receives contactless card data associated with the contactless payment card and transmits a token request message to a token service system. The token service system generates a contactless token for the contactless payment card. The contactless token is associated with the contactless card data, for example, in a token vault. The token requesting device establishes a wireless communication connection with the contactless payment card. The contactless token is then written to a token data portion of the contactless payment card memory device and a pointer stored in the token data portion of the contactless payment card memory device is updated to point to the contactless token.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2020Publication date: July 15, 2021Applicant: Mastercard International IncorporatedInventors: Shawn J. Publication number: 20200074399Abstract: A secure delivery system for securely delivering an article between a sender and a recipient. The secure delivery system includes a repository comprising a housing presenting an interior space and configured to securely hold articles. The system additionally includes a hatch integrated with the repository and configured to provide selective access to the interior space of the repository. A user interface is associated with the hatch and is configured to receive instructions to permit opening of the hatch to provide access to the interior space of the repository. The system additionally includes a communications element configured to a transmit a delivery notification to the recipient. The system further includes an autonomous courier device configured to transport the articles from a geographic location remote from the repository to a geographic location of the repository.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2018Publication date: March 5, 2020Applicant: Mastercard International IncorporatedInventors: Christopher T.
