Abstract: Consumer-driven healthcare payments are made to providers of healthcare services. A healthcare payment system receives, from a mobile device associated with a consumer of healthcare services, an identification of a selected provider of the healthcare services. The system identifies a price list for one or more healthcare services offered by the provider and transmits the identified price list to the mobile device. The system receives a payment request from the mobile device. The payment request identifies at least one service selected from the price list and one or more funding sources. The system transfers electronic payment for the selected service from the one or more funding sources to an account associated with the selected provider. The one or more funding sources may include a bank account, a health savings account (HSA), a health insurance plan, a credit card, a debit card, and/or an electronic payment service.
