  • Publication number: 20240315448
Abstract: A chair comprises a leaf spring for biasing a seat towards the substantially horizontal position and an adjustment mechanism comprises a front and rear support configured to adjust a force curve of the leaf spring. The front support to enable (a) the front end portion of the leaf spring to deflect upwardly for relieving at least a portion of an increase in a spring reaction force induced by downward movement of the rear support as the seat moves in the rearward tilting direction through a range of rearwardly tilted positions, and (b) the front support to deflect the front end portion of the leaf spring downwardly for restoring at least a portion of a decrease in the spring reaction force induced by upward movement of the rear support as the seat moves in the forward tilting direction through the range of rearward tilted positions.

  • Publication number: 20240225283
Abstract: A rail system for a workspace. The system may include at least one mounting mechanism and an elongated rail. Each mounting mechanism is configured for attachment to the rail and configured for attachment to an edge of, or a surface of, a table or desk, so that the mounting mechanism(s) support the rail relative to said surface. The elongated rail is configured to extend horizontally relative to and above the surface of the table or desk. The elongated rail has at least a front surface, a bottom surface/edge, and a back surface, as well as mounting slots. In some instances, a channel (or trough) is defined between the front and back surfaces, which extends between first and second ends of the elongated rail. The rail accommodates placement of electrical cords to/from a power source, for mounting components (e.g., clamps, brackets, release mechanisms) and/or for connecting accessories thereto.

  • Publication number: 20240151413
Abstract: An air purifier comprises a housing that comprises an intake opening for an inflow of air and an output opening for an outflow of air, a fan, a motor for rotating the fan, a sleeve configured to at least partially surround the fan and/or the motor, an air purifier unit, and a retainer assembly. The air purifier unit is mounted in the housing purifying air flowing through the housing and is operatively coupled to the sleeve. The retainer assembly is configured to retain the air purifier unit in the housing and with respect to the sleeve. The retainer assembly comprises a retainer and an actuator operatively associated with the retainer and the sleeve, wherein movement of the actuator from a first position to a second position moves the retainer to securely retain the air purifier unit in the housing.

  • Publication number: 20230392372
Abstract: A method of reconfiguring a modular wall is provided. The modular wall comprises a panel receiver structure with a panel receiving channel; a vertical panel received in the channel of the panel receiver structure; and a first and second fascia trim members. Each of the first and second fascia trim members is configured to be removably attached to opposing first and second sides of the panel receiver structure. The fascia trim members are configured to conceal the panel receiver structure. The method comprises removing at least the second fascia trim member; positioning a second panel receiver structure on the second side of the panel receiver structure, the second panel receiver structure having a second panel receiving channel; positioning a second vertical panel in the second panel receiving channel to be parallel to the vertical panel; and re-installing the removed second fascia trim member to the second panel receiver structure.

  • Publication number: 20230358036
Abstract: A clip for mounting a panel to an internal frame of a modular wall is provided. The frame comprises vertical frame members with a plurality of vertically arranged mounting openings. The clip comprises a mounting portion for attaching the clip to the panel, a mounting insert extending in an insertion direction for insertion into one of the mounting openings on one of the vertical frame members with a longitudinal direction of the clip aligned in the vertical direction of the vertical frame member, and an alignment member offset from the mounting insert in a lateral direction of the clip. The alignment member may extend further in the insertion direction than the mounting insert and being configured such that contact of the alignment member with a vertical edge of the vertical frame member aligns the mounting insert in the lateral direction with the corresponding mounting opening for insertion therein.

  • Publication number: 20230323662
Abstract: A system and connector interconnects modular wall vertical frame members meeting at a junction. A first vertical frame member and a second vertical frame member each have a central section for mounting a wall panel. Each vertical frame member has a pair of lateral legs at the lateral edges thereof and a pair of inner legs extending inwardly. The inner legs are spaced laterally away from the lateral edges. Each vertical frame member also has a pair of interlocking members positioned inwardly of the central section. The interlocking members each having a laterally extending leg defining a laterally extending latch receiving space. The connector member has a head or heads for supporting parts and a latch or latches for securing parts, including trim members. The junctions may be corner or end-to-end.

  • Publication number: 20230313527
Abstract: A pre-assembled internal frame for a modular wall comprises a pair of vertical frame members. Each first flange of the vertical frame member has a pair of series of vertically arranged mounting openings, and each second flange has a single series. The vertical frame members are oriented to enable the frame to be arranged in an end to end junction with another frame with adjacent vertical frame members thereof abutting. This provides three of the series of vertically arranged openings on each side of the modular wall at the end to end junction. A fastener is positioned in a fastener receiving portion for fastening the horizontal frame member to the vertical frame members. The fastener receiving portions are recessed laterally inwardly from the first and second web sections for avoiding interference between adjacent fasteners when the frame is arranged in the end to end junction with another such frame.
