    Abstract: A device for absolute position sensing includes a motor having a motor sensor configured to provide a signal indicative of an angular position or change in angular position of a rotor of the motor. The device also includes an actuator having an actuator sensor disposed at a set-point along a linear range of motion of the actuator configured to provide a signal indicative of a linear position of the actuator. The device further includes a controller configured to receive the signals from the rotor sensor and the actuator sensor and responsively calculate an absolute position of the actuator.
