  • Publication number: 20150356511
Abstract: A system and method for matching potential employees with potential employers over a network. Potential employees sign up for a job notification service and receive information about job openings, including temporary job positions, on their electronic communications devices, which may include a smart phone, a tablet, a laptop, etc. When signing up for the service, the employees generate their Employee Profiles, which contain information about the potential employees certifications, licensing, availability for the job assignment, readiness to travel and other requested information. An employer, when signing up for the service, selects to participate in an open pool or a restricted, closed pool, where only this employer has access to potential employees and job postings of the employer. The server establishes connection with a certification and/or licensing authority to verify current status of worker's certification and/or licensing.

  • Patent number: 8415555
Abstract: Methods of fabricating dimensional silica-based substrates or structures comprising a porous silicon layers are contemplated. According to one embodiment, oxygen is extracted from the atomic elemental composition of a silica glass substrate by reacting a metallic gas with the substrate in a heated inert atmosphere to form a metal-oxygen complex along a surface of the substrate. The metal-oxygen complex is removed from the surface of the silica glass substrate to yield a crystalline porous silicon surface portion and one or more additional layers are formed over the crystalline porous silicon surface portion of the silica glass substrate to yield a dimensional silica-based substrate or structure comprising the porous silicon layer. Embodiments are also contemplated where the substrate is glass-based, but is not necessarily a silica-based glass substrate. Additional embodiments are disclosed and claimed.

  • Patent number: 6916682
Abstract: A package device (10, 100) has one integrated circuit (22, 122) in a cavity (20, 120) in a package substrate (12, 122) and electrically coupled to one side (50, 150) of the package substrate. A second integrated circuit (32, 132) is mounted on another side of the package device and electrically coupled to that side as well. A third integrated circuit (38, 138) or more may be mounted on the second integrated circuit. Pads (16, 116, 116) useful for testing are present on both sides of the package substrate. The integrated circuits may be tested before final encapsulation to reduce the risk of providing completed packages with non-functional integrated circuits therein.

  • Patent number: 6902658
Abstract: A method of fabricating a field emission device cathode using electrophoretic deposition of carbon nanotubes in which a separate step of depositing a binder material onto a substrate, is performed prior to carbon nanotube particle deposition. First, a binder layer is deposited on a substrate from a solution containing a binder material. The substrate having the binder material deposited thereon is then transferred into a carbon nanotube suspension bath allowing for coating of the carbon nanotube particles onto the substrate. Thermal processing of the coating transforms the binder layer properties which provides for the adhesion of the carbon nanotube particles to the binder material.

  • Patent number: 6716078
Abstract: A field emission display (30) having an anode plate (10) that has phosphor channels (13, 14, 15). The phosphor channels (13, 14, 15) are formed by depositing a first layer of photosensitive film (58) on a substrate (11). Stripes are patterned into the first layer photosensitive film (58) using ultraviolet light. A second layer of photosensitive film (59) is formed on the first layer of photosensitive film (58). Stripes are patterned into the second layer of photosensitive film (59) using ultraviolet light. The stripes in the second layer of photosensitive film (58) are substantially perpendicular to the first layer of photosensitive film (59). Both layers of photosensitive film are developed to form channel structures. Phosphor is formed in the channel structures to form the phosphor channels (13, 14, 15). The anode plate (10) is coupled to a cathode plate (31) to form the field emission display (30).

  • Patent number: 6660324
Abstract: A method for fabricating viewing screen (100) includes the steps of: adding to a black surround paste a ductile metal paste, adding to the black surround paste lead titanate particles, depositing the black surround paste on glass substrate (110), and heating the black surround paste and glass substrate (110) to affix the black surround paste to glass substrate (110), thereby forming black matrix (111). The ductile metal paste and lead titanate particles are added in amounts sufficient to realize an extent of cracking in black matrix (111) upon repeated heating to a temperature within a range of 450-600° C. that is significantly less than that exhibited by an unimproved black matrix, which is made only from the material of the black surround paste.
