  • Publication number: 20150348935
Abstract: Method for temporarily attaching a substrates to a rigid carrier is described which includes forming a sacrificial layer of a thermally-decomposable polymer, e.g., poly(alkylene carbonate), and bonding the flexible substrate to the rigid carrier with the sacrificial layer positioned therebetween. Electronic components and/or circuits may then be fabricated or other semiconductor processing steps employed (e.g., backgrinding) on the attached substrate. Once fabrication is completed, the substrate may be detached from the rigid carrier by heating the assembly to decompose the sacrificial layer.

  • Publication number: 20150347740
Abstract: Various features described herein may allow an authorized user to provide a guest with access to a secured location through use of an encoded image containing steganographically encoded access information. The encoded access information may be recognizable by a security system, and the security system may grant access to the secured location when the encoded image is presented to the security system. The authorized user may request the generation of the encoded image on an authorized computing device, and the encoded image may be provided to the guest on a guest computing device. When a monitoring device associated with the security system captures the encoded access information, the security system may, for example, open a door at the secured location.

  • Patent number: 9181634
Abstract: The invention concerns a particle having a code from a library of codes embedded in its physical structure by refractive index changes between different regions of the particle. In preferred embodiments, a thin film possesses porosity that varies in a manner to produce a code detectable in the reflectivity spectrum. An assay detection method uses such a particle and detects a spectral shift in the presence of an analyte. Additional embodiments are disclosed including additional features.

  • Patent number: 9176130
Abstract: The present invention relates to the discovery that the T1R receptors assemble to form functional taste receptors. Particularly, it has been discovered that co-expression of T1R1 and T1R3 results in a taste receptor that responds to umami taste stimuli, including monosodium glutamate. Also, it has been discovered that co-expression of the T1R2 and T1R3 receptors results in a taste receptor that responds to sweet taste stimuli including naturally occurring and artificial sweeteners. Also the present invention relates to the use of hetero-oligomeric taste receptors comprising T1R1/T1R3 and T1R2/T1R3 in assays to identify compounds that respectively respond to umami taste stimuli and sweet taste stimuli.

  • Patent number: 8924567
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for creating an intermediate layer between a SIP endpoint and a SIP service. The intermediate layer may operate to provide a greater flexibility in quickly adapting to customer requirements and/or requests of the SIP service that would, without the intermediate layer, have to wait for long release cycles and request changes directly from the SIP service. The intermediate layer provides a way of increasing the set of features provided to SIP endpoints around the SIP service without changing the SIP service itself.
