  • Patent number: 11852153
Abstract: A bearing system includes a bearing housing and a foil bearing assembly. The bearing housing includes a sleeve defining a cylindrical bore, and a mounting structure for connecting the bearing system to a compressor housing. The foil bearing assembly is positioned within the cylindrical bore and includes an outer foil assembly, an inner foil assembly, and a bump foil assembly positioned between the outer and inner foil assemblies. The bump foil assembly includes a plurality of bump foils disposed circumferentially about the inner foil assembly. Each bump foil is coupled to the outer foil assembly at a respective land and spaced circumferentially from an adjacent bump foil to define a gap therebetween. The inner foil assembly includes a cylindrical inner surface defining a plurality of openings extending radially therethrough. Each opening is radially aligned with one of the lands or one of the gaps between adjacent bump foils.

  • Publication number: 20230281350
Abstract: This invention relates to a computer implemented method of generating a parametric structural design model from a built structure, a computer program product and an apparatus for performing the method. The computer implemented method comprises the steps of receiving a point cloud (PC) representation of the built structure and thereafter generating a plurality of planes from the PC. Planes that are representative of objects to be included in the model are stored in memory. Other planes that are not representative of objects to be included are discarded. The properties of the objects included in the parametric structural design model are retrieved from an Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) standard and the parametric structural design model is generated with the chosen planes and the properties of those objects from the IFC standard In this way, the generation of the model is more efficient and less computationally burdensome than was heretofore the case.

  • Publication number: 20230283817
Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for controlling data such as content and/or application data transmitted to one or more user devices. One method can comprise receiving a request for first content and generating, in response to the request for the first content, a first transport stream comprising the first content and application data relating to a first application. At least a portion of the first transport stream is transmitted to a recipient device. An interruption in the transmission of the first transport stream is detected and a determination is made that only a first portion of the application data has been transmitted to the recipient device. A second transport stream including second content and a second portion of the application data is generated and transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20230147610
Abstract: This invention relates to a computer implemented method for detecting correspondence of a built structure with a designed structure. The method comprises the steps of: receiving an unorganized point cloud (PC) of the built structure, the unorganized PC containing a data set with a plurality of data points, each of which has an RGB value associated therewith; receiving an Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) model of the designed structure, the IFC model including an IFC schema file classifying all object types and object characteristics in the IFC model, the object characteristics including a model object RGB value; integrating the unorganized PC with the IFC model and generating a semantic point cloud by overwriting the RGB value of the data point in the PC with the model object RGB value from the IFC model. In this way, the resulting PC will be easier to evaluate and the evaluation will be more effective.

  • Patent number: 11626110
Abstract: A computing device may be configured to receive a content asset and to determine whether the content asset comprises one or more triggers. The trigger may be a word, phrase, or passcode that alerts a voice activated device to the presence of a voice command and may serve as an instruction to the voice activated device to cause execution of the voice command. In response to determining that the content asset comprises one or more triggers, the computing device may be configured to insert one or more signal markers into the content asset at a location corresponding to the one or more triggers, and to cause transmission and/or presentation of the content asset with the one or more signal markers. The signal markers may cause a voice activated device to ignore a voice command in the content asset, despite the presence of one or more triggers.

  • Patent number: 11626357
Abstract: 3D electrical integration is provided by connecting several component carriers to a single substrate using contacts at the edges of the component carriers making contact to a 2D contact array (e.g., a ball grid array or the like) on the substrate. The resulting integration of components on the component carriers is 3D, thereby providing much higher integration density than in 2D approaches.

  • Patent number: 11614916
Abstract: Many headsets include automatic noise cancellation (ANC) which dramatically reduces perceived background noise and improves user listening experience. Unfortunately, the voice microphones in these devices often capture ambient noise that the headsets output during phone calls or other communication sessions to other users. In response, many headsets and communication devices provide manual muting circuitry, but users frequently forget to turn the muting on and/or off creating further problems as they communicate. To address this, the present inventors devised, among other things, an exemplary headset that detects the absence or presence of user speech, automatically muting and unmuting the voice microphone without user intervention. Some embodiments leverage relationships between feedback and feedforward signals in ANC circuitry to detect user speech, avoiding the addition of extra hardware to the headset.

  • Publication number: 20220292176
Abstract: Various features described herein may allow an authorized user to provide a guest with access to a secured location through use of an encoded image containing steganographically encoded access information. The encoded access information may be recognizable by a security system, and the security system may grant access to the secured location when the encoded image is presented to the security system. The authorized user may request the generation of the encoded image on an authorized computing device, and the encoded image may be provided to the guest on a guest computing device. When a monitoring device associated with the security system captures the encoded access information, the security system may, for example, open a door at the secured location.
