    Abstract: A method and system for remotely controlling a device by using a remote control device via Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) have been described. An embodiment of the method includes receiving a request to remotely control a target device from a Web browser in a remote control device. A Web page is then sent to the Web browser, where the Web page is used to control the target device. Commands are received from the Web browser via the Web page to remotely control the target device.

    Abstract: A system and method for managing power in a network. The method including a client accessing a desired resource listed in a lookup table. Accessing the resource causes an operating system to retrieve a network address for a server hosting the resource. A specially formatted packet is sent to the server hosting the resource to awaken the server from a low powered standby state. After a predetermined delay, all resources associated with the server are remapped. If the remapping was successful, the desired resource is accessed.
