  • Patent number: 11543227
Abstract: A method of measuring the value of a machine tool's performance based upon tangible results. The method specifies the core principles of defining a machine tool part setup consisting of a plane, orientation, and origin. By establishing the plane, orientation, and origin measuring programs and cutting toolpaths are recorded with precision. Machine tool results of positioning, squareness, parallelism, and circularity are revealed upon establishing the proper machine tool setup. Using the method displays the quality of a machine tool which defines its value in the marketplace.

  • Patent number: 11040425
Abstract: The invention of a device has four threaded bolts that engage cooperatively threaded apertures in a base. These thread bolts hold the device in a temporary yet stationary position. The device has non-magnetic metal which allows test indicators to display accurate results free from any magnetic fields. The device has a precision bore of a nominal size. The radial value of the nominal size precision bore provides for mathematical calculation of the spindle centerline to work piece distance for measuring. The device has undercuts on both of its sides to aid in removing by hand. These undercuts allow the device to pivot from its stationary position for removal without damaging the planar surface. Alternatively, the device has four magnetic inserts, pocketed upwardly from the bottom surface.

  • Patent number: 10935359
Abstract: A device used in a spindle or fixture to measure tool sizes. The device has two cylindrical shapes that have precision machined surfaces. The device's face has a precise size which is the same nominal size as that of a material removing tool. The device's shaft allows for concentric and precision fastening of the device to a spindle or a fixture. The nose of the device is located on the end of the larger of the two cylindrical shapes which is visible exposed when mounted and used. The end of the device is at the end of the smaller of the two cylindrical shapes which is hidden after mounting. The device allows more accurate programming of machine tools thus providing higher quality results on machined work pieces and reducing machining cycles.

  • Patent number: 10845192
Abstract: The invention relates to a mechanical test fixture used in a machine tool to inspect its positioning, squareness, parallelism, and circularity. The fixture body has two mountable heads that provide machine areas for inspection. The fixture body has one tooling hole that locates the assembly in a CNC machine and in a CMM. The tooling hole serves as one datum point or origin for setup. The flatness of the fixture body and the witnessed face provide repeatable setup results. The fixture body has two feet on its outer legs for fastening to any CNC machine and CMM table. The test fixture qualifies a machine tool by providing a machinable square head and a machinable round head fixed on a fixture body.
