  • Publication number: 20190155285
Abstract: A computerized control or autonomous driving system for automobiles comprises: one or more common electronic communication ports of autonomous driving, or simply communication ports, that are built-in on each of the automobiles; and one or more universal autonomous driving portable controllers, or simply portable controllers, that are to be plugged-in to each of the said automobiles that are equipped with the built-in communication ports. The interfaces of the communication ports and the portable controllers are both standardized such that the portable controllers can be plugged-in to all of the said automobiles universally. The communication ports comprise electronic communication of all relevant electronic control units (ECUs) and feedback information of the automobiles, dedicated for the said portable controllers to communicate with and to control the said automobiles.

  • Publication number: 20190113687
Abstract: Near normal incidence MUX/DEMUX designs may include an optical demultiplexer coupled to a photonics die, where the optical demultiplexer comprises an input fiber, thin film filters at a first surface of a substrate, a first mirror at the first surface of the substrate, and a second mirror at a second surface of the substrate. The optical demultiplexer may receive an input optical signal comprising a plurality of wavelength optical signals, reflect the input optical signal from the first mirror to the second mirror, reflect the input optical signal from the second mirror to a first of the thin film filters, communicate an optical signal at a first wavelength to the photonics die while reflecting others to the second mirror, reflect the other signals to a second of the plurality of thin film filters, and communicate an optical signal at a second wavelength to the photonics die.

  • Patent number: 8773096
Abstract: A voltage regulator includes an amplifier to generate a difference voltage responsive to a comparison of a reference voltage and a feedback voltage. An output driver is coupled to the amplifier and drives a regulated output voltage responsive to the difference voltage. An impedance circuit is coupled between the output driver and a low power source and establishes the feedback voltage responsive to a current through the impedance circuit. A variation detector is operably coupled between the regulated output voltage and the difference voltage and is configured to modify the difference voltage. In some embodiments, the difference voltage is modified responsive to a rapid change of the regulated output voltage capacitively coupled to the variation detector. In other embodiments, the difference voltage is modified responsive to a rapid change of the feedback voltage capacitively coupled to the variation detector.

  • Patent number: 8385548
Abstract: Apparatus and method for producing quantum entangled signal and idler photon pairs is provided. The apparatus makes use of a nonlinear optical fiber to generate the entangled photons. The use of an external broad band light source for alignment of any downstream measurement apparatuses is disclosed. One or more polarized output signals can be generated at both the signal and idler wavelengths using the alignment source, allowing the downstream measurement apparatuses to be aligned using classical light. Multiple signal and idler wavelengths can be generated and aligned using such a system.

  • Patent number: 8274417
Abstract: For coarse resistor string DACs, a resistor string is placed in an array of columns and rows, each resistor tap is connected to a switch network, and a decoder is used to select switches to be closed such that sub-DAC voltage comes from the resistor taps connected to the selected switches. The voltages from each row are fed into multiplexers, wherein the multiplexers produce output voltages. DAC circuit designs extend the resolution of the output voltages by feeding them into a voltage interpolation amplifier. A method and apparatus are disclosed for implementing Gray code to design coarse DAC architecture for voltage interpolation such that the number of switches required by the circuit is significantly reduced, thereby decreasing required surface area, and improving glitch performance without increasing design complexity.
