    Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods for making a thin film device and/or for reducing warp in a thin film device, the methods comprising applying at least one metal film to a convex surface of a glass substrate, wherein the glass substrate is substantially dome-shaped. Other methods disclosed include methods of determining the concavity of a glass sheet. The method includes determining the orientation of the concavity and measuring a magnitude of the edge lift of the sheet when the sheet is supported by a flat surface and acted upon by gravity. Thin film devices made according to these methods and display devices comprising such thin film devices are also disclosed herein.

The vessel 400 has a body portion 410 for receiving a biological sample. The vessel insert 220 receives at least one reagent therein. Preferably, the vessel insert 220 is received in a portion 420 of the vessel 400. The cap element 200 is attached to the vessel 400 to secure the vessel insert 220 in the vessel 400. During use, the vessel insert 220 is adapted to release its contents when the biological sample is introduced into the body portion 410 of the vessel 400 upon application of an intermixing force to the vessel insert 220. A variety of intermixing forces may be applied, depending upon the embodiment of the present invention and its associated methods of use.

    Abstract: A method of controlling the fluid pressure at wheel brakes of a brake system, the method comprising: (a) providing a brake system capable of delivering fluid pressure to the wheel brakes during an autonomous braking event, and wherein the brake system includes a brake pedal and sensor for sensing a driver's braking intent when applying force to the brake pedal; (b) controlling the fluid pressure at the wheel brakes at a predetermined pressure during an autonomous braking event, wherein the sensor detects no depression of the brake pedal; (c) cancelling the autonomous braking event when the sensor detects depression of the brake pedal; and (d) subsequently to step (c), the brake system enters into a handoff procedure to maintain the predetermined pressure at the wheel brakes after the sensor senses the brake pedal being depressed when a requested pressure by the driver is less than the predetermined pressure.

    Abstract: A neural network may be used to suggest a response to a received message. One or more messages of a conversation may be processed to generate a conversation feature vector that describes the conversation. The conversation feature vector may be used to select a template from a data store of templates. For example, each template may be associated with a template feature vector, and the template whose template feature vector is closest to the conversation feature vector may be selected. The selected template may have a slot corresponding to a class of words, such as a person's name. A text value may be obtained corresponding to the slot (e.g., a person's name), and the template and the text value may be used to suggest a response to the received message. A person may select the suggested response to cause the suggested response to be sent as a message.

    Abstract: A high absorption photovoltaic material and method of making the material for use in a solar cell are disclosed. The photovoltaic material includes a surface modified with a layer of repeating photonic crystal structures. The photonic crystal structures are approximately inverse conically shaped and have a curved sidewall that has an approximately Gaussian shape. The photonic crystal structures generally have a high vertical depth and sidewall angle. The structures also have a gradient refractive index profile and exhibit the parallel-to-interface refraction light trapping effect. An anti-reflective coating is disposed over the photonic crystal structure layer. The photovoltaic material exhibits near unity light absorption over a broad range of visible and near infrared wavelengths and incidence angles, even at reduced thicknesses.
