  • Publication number: 20150174375
Abstract: System and components for inducing pleurodesis or other sclerosis or desired adhesion conditions to treat a patient, while minimizing likelihood of tissue damage from direct application of sclerosis-enhancing materials. A tube device is provided that is configured to elute sclerosis-enhancing material and/or other medicaments via a fenestrated drainage tube. The assembly of tube device with outer (typically drainage) tube may include one or more features configured to enhance delivery of medicament and/or drainage through the same assembly.

  • Publication number: 20130226114
Abstract: A medical drainage system may include a pair of inlet tubes separated by a pump bulb and a valve chamber, where the valve chamber is in fluid communication with a first inlet tube across a one way valve. A second one-way valve may be provided in the entrance to a drainage container at an inlet tube end opposite the pump bulb. The drainage container may be rigid or flexible and may be equipped with emptying means such as a drain valve, connector for suction source, or other emptying/draining means that can be used to partially or wholly void the container contents (e.g., for sampling, testing, or disposal).

  • Patent number: 8277506
Abstract: An apparatus for stabilizing a vertebral body using a structural support to stabilize the vertebral body. The apparatus includes a first curable material deposit proximal to a first endplate of a vertebral body for providing support to the first endplate of the vertebral body and a second curable material deposit proximal to a second endplate of a vertebral body for providing support to a second endplate of the vertebral body. The apparatus also utilizes a stabilizing structure between the first curable material deposit and the second curable material deposit and connecting the first curable material deposit and the second curable material deposit for providing support to the vertebral body.

  • Publication number: 20110238022
Abstract: A system and method for collecting fluid from a patient is disclosed. The system includes two plates separated by restoring force providing members and straps allowing the system to be placed in expanded and compressed modes. The system is a single use system that prevents the re-use of the system once it has been drained of collected fluid. Methods for fabricating the system are also disclosed, including a method that bonds two plates together to create an assembled version of the system.

  • Patent number: 8021037
Abstract: An apparatus and method for mixing two components and delivering the mixture to a patient. The apparatus contains a mixing chamber for mixing a liquid component and a powder component. The liquid component and powder component are mixed within the mixing chamber by rotation of a collapsible mixing element. A high strength cartridge capable of withstanding high opposing axial loads from the mixing chamber and a threaded rod generates force to drive the curable material from the mixing chamber. A plunger connected to the rod is then advanced through the mixing chamber to force the mixture out of the mixing chamber and deliver the mixture to the patient.
