  • Patent number: 10627251
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and computer system are proposed which suggest a multi-destination travel itinerary to a user, who is typically a payment card holder. The itinerary is generated using information about earlier multi-destination journeys made by the user and other payment card holders, as identified based on payment transaction data relating to payment transactions made by the card holders. The other payment card holders may be ones having payment transaction characteristics similar to the user, and the suggested travel itinerary may be selected to have properties consistent with previous journeys the user has made.

  • Patent number: 10424029
Abstract: Method and system for providing a housing recommendation to a user. The method comprising: determining, using a recommendation module, a spending behavior of the user based on transaction data relating to electronic payment transactions involving the user; dividing, using the recommendation module communicatively coupled with a geographic information system (GIS), a geographical area into a plurality of localities based on geographic information from the GIS; determining, using the recommendation module, an average spending behavior of residents in each locality based on transaction data relating to electronic payment transactions involving the residents; assigning, using the recommendation module, a base score to each locality based on a presence of residents in the locality with similar spending behavior to the user; and transmitting, to a user output module communicatively coupled with the recommendation module, the housing recommendation that is based on the base score of each locality.

  • Publication number: 20170345039
Abstract: A method of determining a discount amount for an electronic commerce transaction can include determining, by a processor, whether a member of a financial institution has posted a review for an electronic commerce purchase within a preset threshold amount of time from a time when the member received a purchased item. Upon identifying the time at which the member posted the review, the processor can determine an eligible time period based on the preset threshold amount of time and the identified posting time. The processor can determine the number of occurrences of different eligible discount earning events by tracking, for the eligible time period, activities related to the review performed on one or more social media platforms. The processor can determine a discount amount based on the determined discount earning events and transmit an instruction to credit a financial account with a credit amount corresponding to the discount amount.

  • Publication number: 20160275553
Abstract: A method performed by a computer processor is provided for predicting a subject's response to a candidate merchant. The method includes (a) receiving or generating one or more numerical similarity measures indicative of similarity between the candidate merchant and each of one or more reference merchants; (b) receiving one or more numerical transaction measures representing transactions performed by the subject with the plurality of reference merchants; and (c) obtaining a score for the candidate merchant using the respective one or more numerical similarity measures and numerical transaction measures. The score predicts the subject's response to the candidate merchant. A further compatibility score can be obtained using transaction data and data describing characteristics of the candidate merchant and the reference merchants. The two types of scores can be combined to produce an improved “total” compatibility score. A method for presenting targeted advertising material based on the scores is also provided.
