Abstract: A computer-implemented electronic gaming method for electronic polling includes receiving a third-party request to provide a polling question, for a fee, to members of an electronic on-line gaming community; submitting the polling question to a plurality of members of the on-line gaming community and obtaining responses from at least some of the plurality of members; identifying demographic information for the plurality of members in order to select the plurality of members to be subjected to the polling question, to characterize responses from the plurality of members, or both; and providing, to the third-party that requested provision of the polling question, statistical information about the obtained responses, the statistical information not identifying any personally identifiable information about particular ones of the members.
