Abstract: A device and a method for printing the surface of a flat or cylindrical printing-image store is provided, wherein the device includes an arrangement of closely adjacent cells, a printing-image store, a coating device which is assigned to the frame, a printing device which is assigned to the frame and by way of which ink can be introduced via an inkjet print head, a drying device which is assigned to the frame and by way of which the protective layer and/or the primer which is applied to the surface of the printing-image store or the ink which is introduced into the cells or is applied to the cylindrical printing material can be dried, and a positioning device in order to move the carrier between the coating device, the drying device and the printing device and to position it there in each case in a processing position.
