Abstract: A system for recognizing handwritten data is provided. The system includes an electronic pen and a computing device. The electronic pen is used for forming handwritten data on a medium and for generating an electronic form of the handwritten data. The computing device is used for recognizing the handwritten data based on the electronic form of the handwritten data. The computing device is programmable to generate at least one alternative handwritten data and allows a user to select the at least one alternative handwritten data to replace the recognized handwritten data.

Abstract: A practical and natural way of inputting syllables of scripts into a computer. In one example embodiment, This is achieved by selecting a base character from a set of characters using a digitizing tablet. The selected base character is then modified by drawing one or more natural handwritten modifying gestures to form a current desired syllable. An associated data of the formed current desired syllable is then inputted into a gesture-keypad-engine via the digitizing tablet upon completion of the drawing of the one or more natural handwritten modifying gestures. The gesture-keypad-engine then produces a current candidate syllable as a function of the inputted associated data of the formed current desired syllable. The produced current candidate syllable is then displayed on a display device.

Abstract: A method for communicating media program information is provided. The method includes receiving a content-augmented broadcast signal at a conventional broadcast receiver, the content-augmented broadcast signal having a program content and a program cookie relating to the program content, demodulating the content-augmented broadcast signal, rendering the program content, recovering the program cookie from the demodulated content-augmented broadcast signal at substantially the same time the program content is rendered, determining whether the program cookie comprises information relating to a current media program a user is currently watching or listening to, or to an advertisement of a future media program, and sending the program cookie to an electronic device.
