Abstract: Methods are provided for producing recombinant proteins by utilizing expression vectors carrying nucleic acids encoding the proteins, and secretory signal sequences to direct the secretion of the proteins to the periplasm or extracellular medium. Expression vectors which encode a fusion protein comprising a carrier protein and the protein are also provided, as are host cells transformed with the expression vectors.

Abstract: The invention provides a method of treating or preventing a fungal infection comprising administering to a plant having a fungal infection a composition comprising an effective amount of a compound of formula I, wherein said compound is the following or an agriculturally acceptable salt of the following: ##STR1## The invention further provides such compounds and related methods.
