Abstract: A method of treating a mycotic infection (particularly onychomycosis) of a nail of a subject in need thereof comprises topically applying to a nail of the subject an effective antimiycotic amount of a fungicidal compound of the formula R—(O—CH2—CH2)n—OH, wherein R is a saturated hydrocarbon or alkyl group. Compositions for carrying out the methods of the invention are also described.

Abstract: The present invention relates to ascorbic acid single-phase solution compositions that provide enhanced stability, enhanced solubility and an enhanced photoprotective effect as compared to prior compositions. The compositions comprise L-ascorbic acid; a cinnamic acid derivative such as p-coumaric acid, ferulic acid, caffeic acid, sinapinic acid, a derivative thereof, and a combination thereof; a solvent comprising a glycol ether and an alkanediol; and water; the composition having a pH of no more than about 3.5. The compositions may also comprise a form of Vitamin E and are useful for treatment of radical-induced damage to a subject, particularly the skin of a subject.

Abstract: A skin-care composition containing a protective component providing protection of the skin from environmental damage and regulating natural moisture of the skin; a skin firming component; and a barrier component. Thus, the composition includes at least one component that supports the collagen structure, and at least one component that supports the body's own defense/repair mechanisms, and most preferably, at least one component that supports the skin lipid system.
