  • Patent number: 4744182
Abstract: A building structure comprising a core unit including bathroom and kitchen facilities and a plurality of entrance and exit openings and a plurality of other separate building units having entrance and exit openings therein positioned adjacent the core unit and in communication therewith and with each other through aligned entrance and exit openings, separately constructed at a remote location and secured together in vertically adjusted level position at the building site. The invention further includes the method of constructing the building structure including the steps of constructing the separate core and other building units at a remote location, transporting them to a building site, locating them on foundation structures, vertically adjusting the individual structures and securing them together and subsequently adding additional other separate building units to expand the building structure.

  • Patent number: 4631893
Abstract: The building structure comprises a pre-existing single house structure having a peaked roof with an opening therein, a separate later built prefabricated dwelling unit positioned in the opening in the peaked roof of the house structure and extending outwardly away from the house structure and supported in the opening in the house structure by bearing walls of the house structure or separate support structure or by both which dwelling unit includes access either from the exterior or interior of the house structure or both, and which prefabricated dwelling unit includes parallel spaced apart side walls including a truss therein extending the full length of the side walls.

  • Patent number: 4480420
Abstract: Dormer construction comprising a dormer having two parallel spaced apart side walls having no openings therein consisting of a frame with sheet material both nailed and glued thereto on both sides thereof whereby the parallel spaced apart side walls form beam structures. The dormer is substantially rectangular and has lift members at the four corners thereof for lifting it into position in a house and includes a flashing on the exterior thereof along an opening in a roof in which the dormer is to be positioned for facilitating weather proofing between the dormer and the roof. The method of constructing such a dormer and lifting it into position in an opening cut in the roof of a house having spaced apart exterior bearing walls whereby the spaced apart parallel dormer walls act as beams to support the dormer from the bearing walls of the house.
