    Abstract: A method, device, and computer-readable medium provide for establishing, by a repeater device, a communication channel with a fixed wireless access (FWA) device; receiving, by the repeater device, reference signals from a wireless station; forwarding, by the repeater device, the reference signals to the FWA device; transmitting, by the repeater device, a first uplink signal from the FWA device using a first transmission power level to the wireless station, wherein the first transmission power level is a predetermined value; receiving, in response to the first uplink signal, transmit power control (TPC) command parameters from the FWA device via the communication channel; adjusting, by the repeater device and based on the first TPC command parameters, the first transmission power level from the predetermined value to an adjusted value; and transmitting, at the adjusted transmission power level, a second uplink signal from the FWA device to the wireless station.

The processor may be further configured to rank the plurality of 5G NR antenna beams based on a key performance indicator (KPI); select a highest ranked antenna beam, from the plurality of 5G NR antenna beams, via which the FWA UE device is able to connect to the base station associated with the provider while satisfying a threshold requirement associated with the KPI; and use the selected antenna beam to exchange wireless signals between the base station and the FWA UE device.

    Abstract: A procedure for triggering a handdown or a handoff a mobile station served by a base station of a cellular wireless communication system. A tolerable path loss for signal links between the base station and a mobile station located within the base station's cell, is initially determined. A control signal is radiated at a known transmit power level from the base station over its cell. A receive power level threshold is determined for the control signal for reception by the mobile station, according to the transmit power level and the tolerable path loss. A handoff of the mobile station is triggered after deriving the received power level of the control signal at the mobile station, and determining that the received power level is less than the receive power level threshold.
