Abstract: This document describes systems and techniques to avoid and manage poor wireless connections on mobile devices. The described systems and techniques can determine, based on a determined signal quality or signal strength of a current wireless connection, that a superior signal quality or a superior signal strength is available at a location adjacent to, or within a determined distance of, a current location of the mobile device. In response to determining that the superior signal quality or the superior signal strength is available at the location, the mobile device can provide an alert to a user. The alert can indicate the location adjacent to, or within the determined distance of, the mobile device. In this way, the described systems and techniques can direct users to better network connections or alleviate their impact.

Abstract: This document describes systems and techniques to enable selectable controls for interactive voice response (IVR) systems. The described systems and techniques can determine whether audio data associated with a voice or video call between a user of a computing device and a third party includes multiple selectable options. The third party audibly provides the selectable options during the call. In response to determining that the audio data includes the selectable options, the computing device can determine a text description of the multiple selectable options. The described systems and techniques can then display two or more selectable controls on a display. The user can select a selectable control to indicate a selected option of the multiple selectable options. In this way, the described systems and techniques can improve a user experience with voice calls and video calls by making IVR systems easier to navigate and understand.

Abstract: Videos to be hosted at an asset hosting platform and submitted by an owner of the videos are received. The videos are provided for consumption by users of the asset hosting platform. The historical data identifies a historical popularity of one or more of the videos. Whether the historical data associated with the one or more of the videos satisfies a viewership rate specifying a rate of viewership over a predetermined period of time for the one or more of the videos is determined. Responsive to determining that the historical data associated with the one or more of the videos satisfies the viewership rate, the owner is determined as eligible to participate in a video performance sharing program. A communication for a client device associated with the owner of the videos to invite the owner to participate in the video performance sharing program is generated.

Abstract: This document describes methods and systems of on-device real-time translation for media content on a mobile electronic device. The translation is managed and executed by an operating system of the electronic device rather than within a particular application executing on the electronic device. The operating system can translate media content, including visual content displayed on a display device of the electronic device or audio content output by the electronic device. Because the translation is at the OS level, the translation can be implemented, automatically or based on a user input, across a variety of (including all) applications and a variety of content on the electronic device to provide a consistent translation experience, which is provided via a system UI overlay that displays translated text as captions to video content or as a replacement to on-screen text.

Abstract: A system and method generates a popularity score for a first video based at least in part on first popularity data. The popularity score indicative of a popularity of the first video. The system and method retrieves first historical data including historical popularity of a second video submitted by an owner of the first video, in view of determining that the popularity score for the first video is greater than a predetermined value. The system and method determines that the second video is eligible to participate in a video performance sharing program based at least in part on the first historical data. The system and method generates a communication for a client device associated with the owner of the second video to invite the owner of the second video to participate in the video performance sharing program.

The method includes generating a popularity score for a first video based at least in part on first popularity data. The popularity score is indicative of present and future popularity of the first video. The method also includes retrieving historical data includes historical popularity and profitability of multiple videos submitted by an owner of the first video, in response to determining that the popularity score for the first video is greater than a predetermined value. The method also includes determining that the first video is eligible to participate in a revenue sharing program based at least in part on the retrieved historical data. The method includes generating a message for a client device associated with the owner of the first video to invite the owner of the first video to participate in the revenue sharing program.

Abstract: A method for completing profile of a user includes detecting user interactions at a property page. The user interactions may include social interactions and service-specific interactions. The user interactions are analyzed to determine the context of the interaction and/or data content associated with the user or friends of the user. User profile information is examined to determine which fields need to be filled and which fields need to be updated. Based on the examination of the user profile information and the analysis of the user interactions, a query/suggestion is presented in a user interface and is related to a specific field of the user profile that is to be filled. Response to the query/suggestion at the user interface is monitored and used to update the appropriate field in the user profile.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to scheduled online publishing of internet media. Media content, such as a video, can be received for upload to an online server. A future publish time for the media content is determined based on user input, or satisfaction of a set of predetermined criteria. The media content is maintained as unpublished until the future publish time. Exposure of the media content is restricted to authorized users while the media content is unpublished. At the future publish time, the media content is published, and provided to a set of content consumers via the online server.
