    Abstract: An image sharpening apparatus for sharpening an original image is disclosed. The image sharpening apparatus includes a low-pass filter, a high-pass filter, an edge detector, a sharpening parameter generating unit and an operating unit. The low-pass filter, the high-pass filter and the edge detector receive the original image and respectively output a low frequency image, a high frequency image and several edge detecting values. The sharpening parameter generating unit receives the edge detecting values and outputs corresponding sharpening parameters, respectively. The operating unit adjusts the high frequency image according to these sharpening parameters, outputs an adjusted high frequency image, and combines the adjusted high frequency image with the low frequency image to obtain an edge-sharpened output image.

    Abstract: An image edge enhancing method adjusts a luminance of a target pixel of a digital image. The target pixel has an original luminance. The method includes the steps of: performing an edge boosting operation on the target pixel to obtain an edge enhanced luminance; performing an edge detection on the target pixel to obtain an edge direction of the target pixel; determining an adjusting range according to a luminance of at least one neighboring pixel adjacent to the target pixel along the edge direction; and adjusting the edge enhanced luminance according to the adjusting range so that an adjusted edge enhanced luminance is not too bright or too dark, thereby suppressing a halo effect and enhancing a sharpness of the image edge.

The audio bit stream includes N audio frames. The ith audio frame in the audio bit stream includes an ith main data with a size equal to Si memory units. The last used memory unit for storing the main data of the (i?1)th audio frame is the (L(i-1))th memory unit in the memory. The method first receives the ith main data of the ith audio frame and judges whether the value of the Si is larger than an ith reference value. The method then selects a first part of the M memory units for storing the ith main data of the ith audio frame according to the judging result and the values of M, Si, and L(i-1).

    Abstract: The present invention provides one dual-modulus prescaler using double edge triggered D-flip-flops. The dual-modulus prescaler comprises one double edge triggered synchronous block, one asynchronous block, and one combination logic block. The double edge triggered synchronous block is used to receive an input signal and a divisor selection signal from the combination logic block, and output a synchronous block output signal to the asynchronous block. The asynchronous block is used to receive the synchronous block output signal and output a plurality of signals to the combination logic block. One of the output signals of the asynchronous block is the output signal of the dual-modulus prescaler. The combination logic block is used to receive all the output signals of the asynchronous block and a modulus selection signal. Then, the combination logic block outputs the divisor selection signal and feeds it back to the double edge triggered synchronous block.
