  • Patent number: 10592126
Abstract: A memory management method is provided according to an exemplary embodiment of the disclosure. The method includes: receiving a plurality of commands from a host system; counting a newest idle time corresponding to the commands and a past average command-receiving-time-interval corresponding to the commands; and dynamically changing a work mode of a memory storage device from a first work mode to a second work mode if the newest idle time is larger than a first threshold value and the past average command-receiving-time-interval is larger than a second threshold value. Therefore, a power consumption of the memory storage device can be reduced and a work mode of the memory storage device may not be changed too frequently.

  • Patent number: 7224745
Abstract: A method for avoiding interference in a wireless telecommunication system is provided. The method includes providing communication between a first and second component at an initial frequency. A plurality of successive line quality indicators is determined at a line quality monitor of the first component. Consecutive line quality indicators are summed over a predetermined time to determine a slow hop count. A determination is made as to whether the slow hop count is greater than a slow hop threshold. A determination is made as to whether to provide communication with the first component at a second frequency when the slow hop count is greater than the slow hop threshold. This determination is based on a power level of the second component and a communication strength received from the second component at the first component. A signal is communicated from the first component to the second component requesting the second component to provide communication at the second frequency.

  • Publication number: 20030129948
Abstract: A method for testing a plurality of cordless telephones (12,14) includes assigning a temporary ID to each of the plurality of cordless telephones (12,14). Each temporary ID identifies a first activation frequency for each corresponding cordless telephone (12,14). The method also includes activating each cordless telephone (12,14) at the first activation frequency identified by the corresponding temporary ID and simultaneously testing each cordless telephone (12,14) at the corresponding first activation frequency. The method further includes assigning a permanent ID to each cordless telephone (12,14) after completion of the testing. The permanent ID identifies a second activation frequency for a subsequent activation of the cordless telephones (12,14).

  • Publication number: 20030027559
Abstract: A method for transmitting and receiving caller ID data (28) in a cordless telephone system is provided that comprises establishing a cordless telephone system having a base station (12) and a mobile unit (14). The method then provides for receiving caller ID data (28) at a base station (12) followed by terminating any current caller ID data (28) transmissions from the base unit (12) to the mobile unit (14). The method next provides for appending start (92) and end message codes (94) to the caller ID data (28) to generate a caller ID message followed by packetizing the caller ID message. The method next provides for transmitting the caller ID packets (72) from the base station (12) to the mobile unit (14). The method next provides for terminating the caller ID packet (72) transmission when the end message code (94) is transmitted. The method next provides for receiving the caller ID packets (72) at the mobile unit (14).

  • Patent number: 6456614
Abstract: A method and system are provided for synchronizing wireless communication devices. The method and system involve providing a first unit and a second unit for communication over a wireless communication link. Further, an identical identifier is assigned to the first and second units. Also, a data message is constructed having control data. The data message includes a plurality of data bytes and a portion of the control data corresponds to the identifier. The data message is split into a plurality of message portions and the message portions are transmitted from the first unit to the second unit. The message portions are received at the second unit. Control data from the message portions is assembled to form a control message at the second unit. The identifier portion of the control message is compared with the identifier assigned to the second unit. When the identifier portion of the control message matches the identifier assigned to the second unit, the second unit enters an in-synchronization state.
