  • Publication number: 20150159369
Abstract: An energy-dissipating junction assembly includes a junction plate and a plurality of bolts. The junction plate includes two junction sections and an energy-dissipating section. The two junction sections are used to connect a structure body. The energy-dissipating section is located between the two junction sections and has a plurality of slots, wherein each slot has a length. The bolts are separately disposed at each slot of the energy-dissipating section, so as to connect the energy-dissipating section to the structure body. Each bolt has a head portion, and an external diameter of each head portion is smaller than the length of each slot. The disclosure can convert external force (such as acting force of earthquakes or typhoons) acting on the structure body into uniform tensile force and pressure, so as to avoid generation of stress concentration to damage the structure body.

  • Patent number: 8505260
Abstract: A laterally restrained joint structure including a structural member, a gusset plate and at least one restraining member is disclosed. The gusset plate is connected to the structural member, and a two-force member is disposed opposite to the structural member and connected to the gusset plate. The restraining member is disposed over side or at edges of the gusset plate and connected to the structure member, so that the lateral deformation of the gusset plate can be controlled and the buckling strength of the gusset plate can be enhanced by the restraining member, and the laterally restrained joint structure is capable of reinforcing a building.

  • Patent number: 5913794
Abstract: A ductile steel beam-to-column connection is connected between an H-beam and a column surface. The H-beam has a pair of flange plates and a web plate positioned between the flange plates, a plastic moment capacity and a demand moment capacity. The beam-to-column connection comprises a web plate member and a pair of flange plate members. The web plate member is disposed at an end of the H-beam integrally formed with the web plate of the H-beam. The pair of flange plate members are also disposed at the end of the H-beam and respectively integrally formed with the flange plates. One of the flange plate members includes a tapered zone that is non-uniform.
