  • Patent number: 8346276
Abstract: A local radio network controller (RNC) includes one or more stage buffers, with each stage buffer including a database configured to receive and index service measurement data, and a plurality of service measurement data (SM) buffers configured to store the service measurement according to the index of the database, and to send at least one of the stored service measurement data to a next stage of processing at least one of during the receiving of the service measurement data by the stage buffer and before the stage buffer has completed receiving the service measurement data. A depth and number of the SM buffers and a buffer serving time are allocated such that the one or more stage buffers are scalable to support a service node of increasing size by supporting a diverse number of service measurement pegging and appearing virtually infinite in size to applications pegging the service measurement data.

  • Patent number: 4937817
Abstract: A packet distribution network including a distributed arrangement for selecting packets based on the availability or unavailability of packet destinations is disclosed. A plurality of input units receive and store packets before distribution. Each input unit also receives a sequence of addresses representing packet destinations and a sequence of usage indicators each describing the availability or unavailability of an associated one of the destination addresses. The sequence of addresses and the associated usage indicators are provided to the input units such that the address of each packet destination is contemporaneously received by only one input unit. Each input unit selects a stored packet based on the received destination addresses and associated usage indicators and marks previously available destinations unavailable to other input units by modifying the usage indicator associated with a packet destination for which a packet is selected.

  • Patent number: 4891803
Abstract: A packet switching network that accommodates the appearance of multiple occurrences of packets addressed to the same destination are accommodated. The network includes a recirculating delay block within the switch, and an expander that includes a modest number of multiple appearances of the same address, followed by memories that accept the packets delivered at those multiple appearances, store the packets, and output the stored packets to the user, one at a time, in accordance with a set priority scheme.
