Abstract: A method for defect inspection includes receiving a substrate having a plurality of patterns; obtaining a gray scale image of the substrate, wherein the gray scale image includes a plurality of regions, and each of the regions has a gray scale value; comparing the gray scale value of each region to a gray scale references to define a first group, a second group and an Nth group, wherein each of the first group, the second group and the Nth group has at least a region; performing a calculation to obtain a score; and when the score is greater than a value, the substrate is determined to have an ESD defect, and when the score is less than the value, the substrate is determined to be free of the ESD defect.

Abstract: An IC device includes first through third rows of fin field-effect transistors (FinFETs), wherein the second row is between and adjacent to each of the first and third rows, the FinFETs of the first row are one of an n-type or p-type, the FinFETs of the second and third rows are the other of the n-type or p-type, the FinFETs of the first and third rows include a first total number of fins, and the FinFETs of the second row include a second total number of fins one greater or fewer than the first total number of fins.

Abstract: A pair of gardening shears includes two expandable handles, each handle being formed of an oval outer tube, an oval inner tube, and a grip rotatably fastened to the lower end of the outer tube. The inner tube is slidably fitted at the lower end into the upper end of the outer tube in conjunction with a locating structure including a threaded rod fastened at the lower end to the grip, an upper arresting block, a lower arresting block, and a spring located between the two arresting blocks, which are actuated by the threaded rod to arrest the inner tube at the time when the grip is turned counterclockwise. The inner tube is relieved of the pressures exerting thereon by the two arresting blocks at the time when the grip is tuned clockwise.

Abstract: An open-end wrench includes a main body, a movable jaw plate, and a recovery element. The main body is provided at two longitudinal ends with a slot in which the movable jaw the plate is pivoted. The swiveling of the movable jaw plate is confined by a pin in conjunction with a position confining hole. The recovery element is located between a locating portion of the slot and a fastening portion of the movable jaw plate for providing the movable jaw plate with a recovery force.
