The remote management apparatus has an network interface, a computer interface, and a console interface. The network interface is coupled to a first computer via a network. The computer interface is a signal transmitting interface between the remote management apparatus and a second computer. The user interface corresponds to a set of cursor control device and monitor. The user interface provides a plurality of functional options corresponding to a plurality of functions managing the remote management apparatus respectively. The user interface also shows a plurality of steps on the screen needed for the user to perform the function corresponding to the functional option on the remote management apparatus in response to one of functional options selected by the user to guide the user to finish the function interactively.

The KVM switch comprises a plurality of first connectors for connecting to a plurality of first multimedia components, respectively. The local console comprises a plurality of second connectors for connecting to a plurality of second multimedia components, respectively. A first user utilizes the first multimedia components, via the local console and the KVM switch, to communicate with a second user utilizing the second multimedia components.

Abstract: A system and method for override broadcast in a KVM (Keyboard, video monitor, mouse) system is provided. The KVM system includes a plurality of computers, a plurality of console devices and a KVM switch that connects those computers and console devices with or without network. With a firmware build in the KVM device, the administer of the KVM system can select one of the computers as the broadcaster computer and several of the console devices as the broadcastee console devices through the broadcaster console device. After receiving the broadcast command, the KVM disconnects the signal connections between the broadcastee console devices and the computers that the broadcastee console devices originally connected. The KVM then broadcasts the output signals of the broadcaster computer to the broadcastee console devices.

Abstract: A monitoring method for monitoring operations performed via a first console device, which comprises the following steps. Firstly, a keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) switch is provided, wherein the KVM switch comprises a plurality of video processing units for implementing multiple video processing channels KVM switching. Next, in response to a first login command provided by the first console device, a first channel between the first console device and a first computer is established for transmission. A first video processing unit among the plurality of video processing units is employed to process first video signals transmitted between the first console device and the first computer. Then, whether a second console device has a monitoring authority is determined in response to a second login command provided by the second console device; if so, the next step is performed to provide the first video signal to the second console device.
